With those prices tho its just going to hurt the dealers i no im not trading up now anymore, not at 19100 for a 2018 freeride and then they say my 2017 is worth 9 and i paid near 17 3 months ago,i dont no who can take that kinda beating financially

UOTE=T-team;2379322]Was just going to say, we did a couple already. we have a few in stock. Guys getting trade in values in spring.. Its REALLY hard to do. Nobody knows what the markets are going to do and EVERYBODY is completely saturated with used units due to the bad snow. Give it a bit of time.. values will go back up. Blue book is blue book... A dealer isn't going to pay a couple thousand dollars over what that book is saying to pay..
[/QUOTE]

You know what hurts dealers? Paying really well for used sleds and then sitting on them for an entire year due to not getting any snow. They can't just keep buying sleds at top dollar and not selling them. The market is saturated.. its nobody's fault. It would hurt the dealers even worse to keep taking on inventory nobody is buying when they are still sitting on trade ins from the 16/17 season. "The used sleds are too expensive" and "dealers don't pay enough for trade ins".... that's a door closing formula my friend. What would make you happy as a value.. 12-13000? Then when the season rolls around.... someone is supposed to pay 13,500 for a used one? Keep in mind there's always some inspections that need to be done and some regular maintenance.
Would you do that? No... what about all the 174's dealers took on trade for top dollar then BRP dropped the summit 174 sp's to 10,700? There is a LOT of used inventory around. Dealers paying fair dollars for trades last year and Mother Nature throwing constant curveballs is what set this all up.

9k i dont care how you justify it is to low of a trade value, i sold a 2012 summit with 3200 miles for 6000 and a 2014 summit with 1700 miles for 8200 this year those sleds held there value, purchased the mrs 2016 154x 3 sp for 13300 and it still around the 10 to 11 mark my 17 x should be in the 12 to 13 resale i have never paid so much for a sled to have it drop in price that fast, snow or no snow there is always snow in the mountains thats why i have a mountain sled

You bought a high end brand new sled for 13,300.... so you would have had to pay what for a used one? 9? And THAT guy also would have paid what for his when it was a new snowcheck? You CANT have high end payouts for trades and cheap used units which is what this market needs right now. You can't have t both ways. The winter didn't deliver man and you can blame the dealers. Most of them were more than fair with trade in values at the start of the season and between the huge rebates and no snow.. got STUCK with them all. Open a dealership.. pay people what they want for trades regardless of the market when you can't sell them back... you go out of business. Simple as that. Trust me man I get your frustration 100% over. But it's not the dealers doing it intentionally.

between the lowest trade price i have ever seen, brp not covering our bracing, my sled being in the shop a good chunk of the winter, if my 17 worked properly i would not even consider trading it so soon but now it seems i am stuck with it as i cant even give it away without loosing my shirt on it. it not the dealers fault they dont make the trade values, and have kept me rolling the best they could, but a 17 k to 9 in a matter of months stings, but BRP leaving us hanging is more so my issue!!

Didn't I see new, in season 850 SP's going for $10kish?
It's mid/end of season rebates that are killing the resale values.

Trading and upgrading sleds on an annual basis has always been an expensive deal no matter the brand. As the new price of sleds has escalated to its present level that annual upgrade cost has also gotten more pronounced. Even my method of dealing with the issue has significant cost attached to it. I generally will keep and gradually mod out my sleds to keep pace with the new offerings and for those who do the same, we all know that cost, it's not cheap. Either way, chasing the best of the best will cost you. Then compound low snow conditions into the mix, the final hit to your wallet gets bigger.

For me, I've been burned this way repeatedly but have chosen to view it from a different perspective. The lastest years of sleds are flat out amazing tech and believe it or not I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a 17 Doo, once the clutching and brace issues are solved and proven. With the build up in inventory some smokin deals are there to be had and at a fraction of the cost of new. It's just a matter of perspective, don't get me wrong, I've felt the same pain but going on about doesn't change it.

Just makin lemonde out out of the lemons we have to work with! Just my way of viewing things.

My last 2 new sleds purchased were bought at prices that mirrored what I paid in 2000 for a new sled. I don't need 4 sleds but at the prices right now why not. Am sure a G4 and an Axys are great but I got 2 great new sleds for the price of 1 of the aforementioned. Will ride them a few seasons and blow them out for 5000ish.....works out to be maybe a grand a season loss over purchase price. Trading up every year is for the rich or the buy now pay forever club. To each their own...my way isn't the right way.....its just right for me.

Well lets get back on topic.
Bulkhead brace is available at a cost to consumer of $80 and an extra kick in the nuts of $54.
What an insult after 17K.
So bad of a design that to try sell an 18 it comes from the factory.
Brutal, just brutal after 17k, $134 will break the bank.
Cheaper than the belts we are forced to buy on a clutch that had to be reworked.
Oops off topic.
Hopefully peeps are spreading the word to non site members on how doo treats their customers.
Wait out the consumer and then screw him again for more parts.

I truely hope their sales tank.
It might be the interweb but the horror of it all is
TRUE!!!!!!

My buddy smoked a 10' tree today and snapped it clean with one ski. 2017-165 x. Hit so hard it ripped the ski hoop rivits right through the top of the ski. We put a bungie on the ski tip to put the curl back in it and rode it all day. The sled is straight other than needing a new ski. Must be a weird hit that shatters these bulkheads.

If you are getting your updates done the brace should have been N/C.

There are a number of dealers now doing a lot of this stuff pretty much for free.
