Hey guys
I know there's been alot of you awaiting to see if the spacer kits would for the gen4
There was a member here on snow and mud that was nice enough to bring his brand 850 over and let have free reign. Huge shout out to newmanator90.

Here is what the kits look like in the new platform (much the same as the last). Everything was a nice snug fit, I don't think it could have went any better.

That being said I did find a few things while I was digging into it. There was roughly 1/32 or so worth of shaft play in the upper mounting locations (there is a thread about this on here somwhere that I've read) that can be corrected by turning it down on a lathe or removing it via bench grinder.

Upon taking the machine apart I found the torsion springs were already twisted and contorted in the skid. (You can see this in the picture below). We fixed that when we put the spacers in the skid.

One more thing I found is ski doo actually put a threaded hole in the rear arm shaft witch leads me to believe they have a tool to stop that shaft from turning on the inside while you are trying to remove the skid.

I also took a picture of the factory shaft sleeve because some guys are having issues with the install. I do have it in the instructions that it needs to come out BUT you need to get the idler wheel off in order to visually see it.

Yes these will fit xms and 850s.
The performance advantage would be getting the spring to work the way it was intended to. If you look in the other thread I have in the xm side you will these there's quite a few guys that love them.

Of course you have to have at least one or two of the guys that don't gave any in their sled and make uneducated posts like the one above from sidewaysinto3rd. That being said again if you take a look through the other thread there is reviews and they speak for themselves.

How much $ and get them from where??
Looks to keep the spring position centered on shaft, would give consistant performance and no shaft wear from steel on steel.

They are 85 bux a kit. You get them from me. I have them made for guys that want them.

That's exactly rite. Keeping the spring center on the shaft allows it to function as intended. What tge end goal is here is to keep all the spring rate within the spring and have it transfer to the skid. Any sort of spring binding or contortion and we loose a percentage of the available rate.

I rode a sled with those in it once (older mxz) . felt like there was no rear suspension .. I don't understand the point .. would never put a set in a sled !

It takes away the infamous 2" of top slop in the skidoo torsion system. id say without them you're not utilizing the system to its limits whatsoever. Mountainsledmania is great to deal with as well.

Being from the states it makes sense for you. But up here in Canada he's local and keeping money in the country and supporting local business.

Understand Hygear has them, but with exchange and shipping????

As Canadians we fully support local folks. (Not condesending americians,,,, Just the dollar thing is blleep bleep,,,)
Especially snow and mud members who went out of there way to find a solution and build them on his own.

They are not over priced and you can count on an honest fellow helping friends out.....

Thanks! We also dont have to pay for R and D as the folks spread the honest word.

If they dont work for you, sorry! They have worked for a bunch of folks...
Hell, I have not even ordered any yet for my sleds and I am sticking up for the product..... HMMMM!

I need two sets with insructions so my daughter can install then for me.... That is the truth as I am too old...

PM me details... on how to order please,,,, thanks!

The one and only thing i hate about ski doo is the rear skid set up. You are correct when you cay its stupid they dont put a coil over in the skid and i am with you 100%. Is it sloppy the just throw a torsion spring in there and let it flop around on the rear arm shaft, Yes again 100% you are on point. That being said torsion springs are not all that bad if you make a few minor adjustments, will it even compare to a coil over likely not.

What i set out on a mission to do here was provide everyone with a cost effective way to maximize the operating efficiency of the rear skid. Im just a regular jo blow like most others on here with the exception that i weigh 220 to 250 pending on where i am with my gym routine. I to was unhappy with the torsion springs so i started doing some looking into it trying to figure out what the best solution was to solve the problem without breaking the bank on a coil over conversion and this is what i came up with, Yes Hytech has something similar in the states, BUT the material they use has no where near the same properties as the material i use. My goal was to be able to give everyone like myself a fix that they only had to pay for once that would correct the issue with the factory equipment, Keeping more cash in their wallet to spend more time on the hill. I am not a business and i do not make any profits by doing this its simply something to fill the void between work and play.

Do they work, Yes they take all the slop out of the skid and you get the full operating range of the torsion spring itself. Also a huge help for the summits wheelie tendency. Are they as good as a coil over? No ( I have one coil over set up and one torsion set up to compare to) But i can honestly tell you they are not far behind. ( Keep in mind the spring has everything to do with ride height and load capacity , same as the coil on a coil over, they both have not relation to dampening what so ever). Would i rather run a torsion spacer for $85 or a coil over for $1000.... I think its pretty clear id rather have another day on the snow.

Torsion springs do have merit VS coilovers. With any spring it is important to have the right one for your weight though.
Coil are lighter. Torsion springs do some things better though, that's why every rising rate skid out there runs them...

2017 Snowcross line up,, all running torsion springs. Wonder why??

Hey just wanted everyone to know ive got tons of stock of kits for the rear end of your G4's. Probably the best upgrade you can do to these machines suspension wise without dropping huge money on and aftermarket skid upgrade. Lots of big name riders are running them now with nothing be amazing feed back. Quit running your rails into your drop brackets thats hard on your machine! also stay tuned for dealer stock as these are starting to show up the shelf at the big name dealers!
Ride safe!
