Is the Turbo worth it so far?

If you ride in deep snow. This is the machine to have. Works flawless all day long over 1000km on my 21 now. If you ride steep and deep the difference between the turbo version and standard is extremely
Noticeable. Especially when comparing to a Polaris or cat with less flotation. Sure if you ride crap snow at low elevation maybe not a good buy. PS. Anyone lake racing these things are wasting their time. Try uphill in 2 feet of snow

That would be the ultimate true test, up hill and 2 feet fresh, thats where people will see the turbo handle the load better then n/a . Agreed

I came from a cat. I ride with some of the best set up alphas out there. Those alpha cats on **** snow run right beside me no problem. Even switching riders we raced alphas uphill against me on my 165t. On set up Snow Its not much difference. I’ve been riding bottomless Revy pow for 6 days now and I haven’t had anyone follow me in the trees with out getting them super stuck Or having to turn out lots and hit things twice just to follow me. These turbos rip in the bottomless snow. It’s blizzarding right now In Revy and tomorrow she’s going to be even deeper

Think once we get some big dumps on the hills and there is more time out on this new tdoo, this will become more evident quickly, we seen in the 20.5 release where a good running 174na setup sled will work it, yes the skid on new tdoo is not a great climber, and this will get worked out with time.. but sure could be some sad love floating around real soon

170hp is 55 mph track speed sled on the 165 track.. definitely something left on the table over track resistance and attack angles..

Well I know that any N/A sled is only going to do 45 mph track speed, up hill in deep pow at best, so if the turbo is capable of 55 mph it must just need to be set up properly. My buddy that has a t850 teases me that my sled is a mod because I clutch it to my liking. Now he ordered a clutch kit for his sled. I'm thinking he might want more from it. I suppose the turbo is slow when it is not loaded because the power is pulled back to stop it over-revving. Clutching could be to blame for not loading the motor.

Very true, there is losses that need to be found, in the spring we seen the 20.5 where it had a good run at the hill do very well once one on the snow and hauling ass, then the next hill where it had limited time to get ground speed was a real rodeo and did poorly.. proper setup will be a big player ..

This last weekend there was a guy in the motel parking lot adding pin weight bitching his sled was hitting rev limiter, but then went on to say how it lifted skis three feet in the air and loved it over his n/a sled, but when discussing with him he’s only using a third of his track and might be why he’s over revving, he looked speechless, just looking at his skid on the deck his limiter strap was a wet noodle and his rear bumper was almost six inches drop when pulling it down..

I think rear suspension, attack angles, and finally clutching will give a modest gain, not sure the 165 track will handle the true benefits this tdoo can offer thou, but can be a fun sled for sure in the trees

I rode a new 850T 154 last weekend that was geared up and the 154 killed my 2019 850 165. It was a huge noticeable difference. I had to be careful climbing as it always wanted to come over backwards. Put a HUGE GRIN on my face. It ran flawlessly.

I always wanted to to set up a tdoo in a 154, think it would be a blast for sure and in the trees even more fun on bad snow days, but was concerned about flipping it over backwards.. might need a strong skid for sure

kinda wished I never gave the Sibler away and would of set a 850 up like that, could of been done pretty cheap I bet..

I was initially on the fence whether the turbo would be worth it but after a couple days in deep powder I'm Soooo happy I got one! Loving my Turbo Freeride 165. I put the adjustable limiter strap on and it seems to really help. I also put the rear spring spacers on which has helped stiffen up the rear to keep the front down. Very impressed with the seamless power making it easy to ride in the trees. For the incremental $ the turbo is way better value than screwing around with pipes, heads, etc. in my opinion.

Such a shame! Such a great sled and so many no class owners , chock full of Doo-laid and self absorbed comments regarding anyone else’s preferences. All brands have homers and sticker blind owners, but over the years of watching ........ seems the DooTard crowd is hands down winner when it comes to lack of grace and class . Congrats. Awesome sled though !!

PS:: Merry Christmas !!
