Has anybody had issues making warranty claims from using non skidoo oil in an E-TEC? That has always been my biggest concern and reason why I always pony up for the expensive yellow jugged skidoo stuff. My last sled (800 ptek) made it to 4000miles before cooking the top end running the co-op synthetic injection oil.
4000 miles on a ptek is awsome, and bet it wasn't from the oil but the ring pin falling out

I have used coop xls synthetic since new ( bought 2 jugs of doo when brand new)
On my xm, 5000 km and dealer did prevention top end, never asked about oil used

My xp has 2500 miles all original engine

43 bucks a 5 l when on sale, I like it

Last I checked Shell oil is $59.99 per 4L at Canadian Tire. Doo synthetic is $45 per 4L. Ipone is MSRP $62.99 some dealers offer for cheaper. I was getting it for $50 per 4L. Ipone and Doo oil no issues and get high mileage. No personal experience with Shell.
You sure its not 5l

Yeah someone replied already Shell is 5L.
Shell $11.99 per L @ CDN Tire, $10.80 per L @ Walmart $11.25 for Doo. Pretty equal.

How is the Co-op Tex? Only one left in our group with a 2 stroke now and I know he'd appreciate a cheaper priced oil if quality is good.
Been good, never a issue

Got 7000 km on my xm now

Have a buddy with a 720 ( 670) mod motor, has to have 9000 miles on it

And has used coop xls synthetic since new, that says something to me

Im running Intercepter!! Amsoil has relabeled the bottles for Doo Etecs. They did extensive testing on the Etec. They have been using similar stuff in the outboard etecs for years! It is good to go, get a prefered customer membership and price is excellent.
i run it in my 2010 m8, my bud was using it in his new etec 800 since new!! good to go, smells nice too!

x2 on Intercepter. Ran it in my 2010 M8 and now my proclimb with no issues. Preferred customer account and it was less than $40 a jug.

The UFA fuel station in Edgar Red Deer, he sells a jug for $44. $60 at dealerships.....

All of I've run, good or bad, don't know. Seems alright, clean power valves. 4400miles on an M1000 before a mag side piston skirt went through the system lol

Ran co-op xls in 2 different xm's looks and smells like brp oil but I find it does smoke a bit more then brp oil so I went back.

Oil is cheap in comparison to everything else when it comes to sleds, bikes, quads etc. I have always use what is recommended and have had no issues over the last 30 years. Maybe I have been just lucky or don't ride hard enough. I sold a 2007 700 dragon a few years ago with 10,000 km on it. The top end was done once. Two owners and always used ves gold. I think sometimes luck also plays a part. Just my two cents.

Yep had just shy of 6000 miles on 13 XM and never cleaned the valves. 16 has 2000 miles and hope it goes as long! I agree the co-op is great oil, just found a bit more smoke at idle vs brp with basically no smoke at startup. Some people wouldn't mind but still nothing like an etec to run clean. It's kind of weird the co-op xls looked like brp a couple years ago and now it's more clear like Polaris best gold. I found the darker color to be less smoke, might changed their mixture. I tend to buy when out riding and buying fuel at co-op stations easy to grab a liter to top up on long trips.
