Was out fishing at Fairfax today and checked out the Lovett staging area on the way, the parking lot has been graded and there were numerous sled tracks around , I was surprised to see there were very little for marks on the way up the hill from the Embarras river bridge. About 2 feet of snow...
Did 80km's in the hills by silver summit today 1.5 to 2 ft of snow, stuck to unplowed roads and trails I know have no creeks . After driving to Cold Lake last week and seeing how little snow their is most of the way there anyone coming this way will be surprised how much snow this area has.
First ride of the year . About 1.5 ft of snow just north of town with slushy areas underneath. Ran into about 20 sleds between town and sundance/silver summit on Sunday.
Snowmobiled the south Edson trail (Swartz Creek cabin/rally route) 120 km from the staging area north of Edson where I started or 100km if you started from the golf course. The trail is all groomed and smooth except for a few minor spots where they have been doing some logging.
The trail from town to the Pepper hill cabin is groomed (Lots of sleders on it today) I believe their waiting for some logging to be done before they go further. The trail south of town has also been groomed I'm going to try it on Tuesday.
Lots of fresh powder 1-2 ft on the cutlines/old logging roads between Tom Hill and Silver Summit , the ski hill was not open but they were working on the parking lot with the Bombi at the lodge. Was up at the Lovett staging area but there is not enough snow to justify the drive.
