Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

I would have disagreed with you about the small percentage but it is true given what I've learned on these sites about how many OHV users there are. It is still a BIG problem for this area. My cameras a good evidence on how many and how many return. I can comfortably estimate around 500...

Thanks :) I'll post updates here - good or bad - on how things go.

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

Thanks! I appreciate the comments. I'm learning stuff here too which is helpful. There are a lot of responsible OHV users and groups - this is good to see. I started out very angry but you can only do that for so long before it consumes you or ruins you or you run away from the problem -...

Understood. Remember that we meet and converse regularly with all enforcement levels. You will still get the odd RCMP detachment member that is not as aware as the rest we meet in person so they quickly get educated as well on the situation and what the law allows. They are not always up on...

Thanks! I'll let the authorities follow them. Too bad the parents themselves are the problem too - people in their teems, 20s and all the way up to 60s have been caught. Average age of people I confront is 30 something - numbering in the hundreds. Just thought it was worth a call out that is...

Great suggestion! I have several rolls of the industrial reflective tape and will add that to our plans. For me, I run no cattle in the creek and never will. Our grandfathers did but as my wife has said so many times so well "Cows, what they don't break up (fences) they **** on the rest..." :)

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

Agreed, as per my last post it is removable gates that are going up and not say a barbed wire fences. Well signed and well ahead of arrival. This has gotten the approval from the county and Fish and Wildlife. It solves a whole lot of problems and I hope I get a chance to work with OHV users...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

I would be fine to do that and it makes sense to me - fencing along the creek. I can't say the same for all my neighbors but I'm good for that. Doesn't stop the quaders though. So to clarify, the fences that are cut are the ones no where near the creek that border our land. Also to clarify...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

I hear you. I've been dealing with this for years without much success. I already stated how many signs I've lost and how I continue to replace them. To "whine", as you have put it, is more like swallowing my pride to come on sites like this. It is about creating more awareness (and I hate...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

I found this a good link in support both of what lilduke is saying: Public access to waterways on private property – The Law - The Western Producer Our fences near around the creek are inspected for this very purpose and have been inspected by Fish & Wildlife. All pass without altering the...

Agree, 100%. You now know you have one of your own members, lilduke, who is ruining for others.

Then I'll change the title just for you so you feel better. So I see you are part of the problem and not the solution. If you want to ride your skidoo down the creek you are more than welcome to. Safe for the fish too rather than OHVs in the spring when there are actually fish in there and...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

This is actually why this stuff happens. It angers me to hear you say this. Never did I say "I own the creek". The land surrounding the creek is all private. As per our discussions with Fish and Wildlife the creek itself is a fish bearing stream. It is illegal to cross and fines will be...

For reference on the area I'm referring to:

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

No, trespassing is trespassing. The quaders and vandals have ruined it for the rest. There are 6 neighbors banding together in the same area which own a total of 11 quarter sections. I expect this to rise as we fan out our message to other neighbors and hopefully the entire creek water shed -...

Tons! We also place the signs where vandalism takes place so the vandalism happens under a "Private Property - No Trespassing" sign. Eventually most signs fall to vandalism as well. So far, 27 and counting over the past 6 months have been taken or destroyed. This includes signs 25 feet up in...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

Thanks, I registered on Facebook and got a posting there. Lots of looks so this is a win to me. Regarding the neighbor mentioned that is me. I'm cutting the grass near the range road, turn to get the next pass and I see a wheel coming down on me. The two dirt bikers thought it would be fun...

Conjuring creek is private land not crown land

Hello all, This my first post here. From my user name I think you all might know my role not as an ATV rider but a concerned land owner. There is a creek called Conjuring Creek that rests in Leduc County. Starts at Wizard Lake and makes it all the way to the North Saskatchewan River. I am a...
