Looking at the PTT button I see no seal. I originally had the standard Baofeng mic and was not happy with the quality and it broke on me - this is certainly a different construction/manufacturer and to me has a clearer voice output. I have used it two seasons now with no sock/snow cover...

try this waterproof IP67 mic, I found it clear and reliable, though expensive. You will need K1 connector for Baofeng:

Just wanted to say we have been using ray's radio all season and they have worked very well. the only issue we had was the external mics sometimes do not connect properly if the cable is stretched, but just give it some slack and the problem is solved. One thing we did was add the BCA channels...
