I just think its funny I'm nervous about that kinda weight on my 2500 when you see... "people" putting decks on 1500 thats NUTS  few guys at work are telling me I'm over thinking things that a few hundred pounds over weight is nothing that a lot of people dont even take the time to go...
HAHA I used to drive a chevy but wanted to upgrade to brand new..... and in a diesel dodge is the only was to go.... unless you like UREA BOO!! the new cummins highoutput is very very nice
I was wondering if anyone actually has one of those truckbox decks, the only reason I like it is that they claim it keeps the elements out of the box as it would be nice to use it as a box cover and deck. Ive read a lot of posts people concerned about damage to the truck box rails and such. I...
I second that....... maybe his has a higher payload? i believe my friends 2008duramax 3/4 ton has a payload near 3000lbs but the truck can't only weight in at 5400lbs with a diesel in it..... I dont think anyways.... OH OH MAYBE HE TOOK THE DOORS HOOD AND BOX OFF!!! LoL
very true, thank you very much for your input. I plan on throwing one of the atvs on the truck and going to the scales, the heavier atv. to get an accurate weight on them, just cant do it yet the tire and rim is in the shop getting replaced :p hopefully I get it back this week and can give it a...
yes technically nothing lets you change the GVW because the sticker wont change itself :p but when the only difference in the 2500 and 3500 is rear suspension, same diff, same tires same frame, and firestone airbags say they a max load capacity of 5000lbs, I dont think it will hurt anything to...
Thats something I dont understand at all, you can read everywhere that people say beefing up the suspension with something like airbags won't increase yoru max payload.... but the only difference in a 2011 ram 2500 and 3500 is really the suspension, same axles tires etc.... I'm not goiing to be...
I didnt want a 1ton as my daily driver as thats what this truck is. I figure a 3/4 ton has got to be able to carry a deck, like come on some red necks in the country that I know of do it on 1500 when they put airbags in
Im not sure why the new ones are so expensive, im not sure about gm and chev but the new ford 3/4 tons also have roughly the same payload as my dodge. I've read the only difference between the 3/4 and 1ton basically is different leaf springs, so i figure putting air bags on my 3/4 ton will make...
I might just be ok, went to the scales, with me and the wife in the truck we were 7680lbs my gvwr is 9600lbs which leaves me with 1920 for deck , atvs, gear. if i can keep the gear to 200lbs we will be right at max :s put in some air bags, and im ok with being 50 to 100lbs over payload I cant...
yup just learned that its closed lol. hopefully I can find the one thats by radway on highway63, headed to red water for thanksgiving maybe ill drive a little past and check the weight. maybe ill go with airbags, and run the deck in winter ill only be 200lbs or 300lbs over weight as long as I...
thats it im driving to the scales if i can find them, never been to one before but i guess theres one on highway 16 east of edmonton? i cant find exactly where online hope i spot it
the only difference with the 3500 i was told was extra leaf spring? so putting airbags in a 3/4 might be the same? BAH! I dunno might just stick to a trailer, would just really like to get the quads up on a deck
my 1500 avalanche could tow 5000 from the hitch, i think the 2500 should do more then that, i recall the dealer saying 10000, and 20000 with a 5th wheel
The way I calculate it I'll be right on max with a deck, 2 atvs, and 2 people. But then however much gear I have, plus is I tow anything my gear and tongue weight is what I'll be over with.
