We rode along the logging road for maybe 20 km...snow was fine but with the higher speed, the cold was not pleasant so we turned back. we were admiring those xp sleds, they looked pretty slick with all the aftermarket parts...

I hear ya...if we are unsure about how frozen the lake is, we make a fishing hole and then measure the thickness....

I don't think cataract is a good place for kids...too many yahoos driving too fast and some trails are pretty narrow. Now without any grooming, the yahoos will be even more out of control.... Unfortunately there is no really good safe areas for kids to learn to ride near Calgary....We need a...

I have been out to sibbald once. The snow conditions were not great and we trashed our carbides. Apparently if you ride the trails far enough there is a play area but we never made it that far....

Now I remember that thread, was not sure what area it referenced. Just checked an old snowmobile conditions report that did specify that Maclean Creek was not open until December 1. I wonder if there is enough snow to head out this weekend? Fortunately lots of guys on the site post up pics...

How cold was it when you guys unloaded? Planning on going out to Maclean tomorrow just to get out....figured it would be easier to drive 40 minutes to Maclean then 1hr and 40 to Cataract. With the forecasted temps we figured on sledding for an hour or two before we got too cold....ya ya, I...

We are also thinking about going out on Sunday but the weather is discouraging.....-25 is pretty cold and could be dangerous if the sleds start acting up....We may go out just for the chance to try the sleds out but will not venture too far away...

Was it a thread on here that got pulled? That's not right, information good or bad should be permitted. If GH disagrees, then let them come on here and tell their side of the story. I don't agree with the name calling etc... but objective facts should never be removed or edited....

Apparently there is snow in the forecast for Friday and Saturday. If the snow materializes on Friday, it may make sense to give it a try on Saturday. I have not been up since last year but like many others, I am dying to get out and ride....
