hey there guys and gals, any cylinder servicing / placing companies in the edmonton area? found a good nick in my PTO side cylinder wall, and wanna have it fixed.
first time at summit river lodge... thank you Lisa and Terry, you have made the experience away from home more like being at home and being able to have an epic weekend of sledding. we will deffinately be back!
oops....guess i should mention that there is snow in them hills, and it is snowing...
i run the same as Audette13; 19/42 with a CE 155" 2009 assault. i might futz with it a bit due to the turbo, but does work well.
i ordered the Royal Distributing HYVO gears. IIRC, the stock gearing was a 20/41.
hey there guys, been fighting with some kill switch gremlins for the last couple of rides, and finally found the issue of wires shorting out at the top of the steering hoop
where they pass through the hole to get to the handlebars. the brown wire was completely sawn through, so solder and...
for the idler wheel thingy, i think i let the track become to slack and i hadn't been checking ALL of the skid bolts. lesson learned, when we land at the hotel du jour when sledding, i give the bolts a quick once over before the sledding really starts. as far as what to look for in a kit, i...
i'm sorry Corey, i guess i should quantify my problems from having the turbo installed.
1) i did have the factory BD weld ( the inlet from the exhaust to the turbo - the one at the turbo flange; no the one at the pipe) let go while in the hills..... was running like a$$ for a bit, then got real...
i heard the same thing from some guys i have ridden with; but found a BD on the cheap, and figured what the hell. a little bit of a learning curve involved with readign the plugs and feel of the machine to get the fueling right. once i got it dialed; which was about 3 hours in McBride ( keep in...
like Jutin pointed out, i went wth th 19/42 gearing, MTNTK drop in, PCV with stoutner 162 map, 155x2.5 CE track swap, air frame running boards (can't say enough about the change in feel of the IQ chassis with some stiff boards on it)...... then the BD turbo.... and life became complete
have a 2009 assault that i bought in 2010 with 200km on the odometer. here's the goodie list from first to current:
1 -- PCV with the stoutner 162 map <-- crisper bottom end, better pull in the mid, tightened up the reaction on top
2 -- 19/42 gearing from the sock 20/41 <-- made it jumpy.....fun...
at that RPM, i'd be looking at the exhaust valves for carbon buildup or a plugged passageway on them. i've also run into similar problem where my sled wouldn't build RPM, and i found that my primary spring had broken off the last coil and was causing the clutch to bind slightly.
good luck with...
just got back from mcbride today..... the snow might have been pretty bullet proof, but riding in the sun with t-shirts in January is fun. things'll get better, just takes a good storm and sledding will be heaven again!
had somethng similar where the sled would briefly touch 8200 rpm when hammered on, then dive to below 7700.... found the first coil of my primary spring had broken off and was binding in the clutch. didn't matter what weight i threw into it, no gains and same result.

50/50 Fury 108 and 94 premium
boondocker setup, 6-10 lbs boost (gotta luv EBC) dependant on what the day is asking for; usually 8 lbs from 6500-8000'.
stock head, but do have the MTNTK drop in fix kit for the CFI-4
so far, no bouncing off DET, but do only run her around 4-6 lbs in mcmurray when...
