Did you mount the muff pot directly on the pipe or is there insulation in between? Has to be mount directly and closest to the engine. Also block any hood openings that can allow snow or wind at the pot. Mine cooks hotdogs wrapped in foil in 20 minutes.

On a buddies sled we had the exact same issue. I took and cut the wire, twisted and soldered the bared ends together and perfect since. Just need to see if you need it an open or closed system and either pull the plug or tie the ends together.
