    2018 F-350 vibration

OP, have you seen the roadforce results? What are they? Am wondering if any are 'on the edge' of the acceptable limit. But I guess it does sound like there are some mfg issues with uncalibrated jigs on these Fords...

Easier winter drive: 4x4 RV or truck+enclosed?

Yeah, I'd prefer to leave the topper on. I don't have an easy way to take it on/off myself. Even with the enclosed, I figure I'll still appreciate the dry storage. I had a folding tonneau on my previous truck (and a canopy on the truck before that), and having all that room is so much more...

Easier winter drive: 4x4 RV or truck+enclosed?

Thanks for the replies and input, guys. Much appreciated. Like I said, I've never even stayed in an RV. Only popped inside them a handful of times at shows, etc. Never driven one. (Never driven truck+enclosed either) It's sounding like the prevailing opinion is that if wind is one of my big...

Easier winter drive: 4x4 RV or truck+enclosed?

Hey guys, I was wanting to get some opinions on what would be the easier setup to drive on the winter roads for sledding. When I say easier, I'm only focusing on the driving experience. What's going to be less white-knuckle and what's going to be less stressful. The reason I ask is because I'm...

    Tonneau cover / sled deck

I would have LOVED if this existed when I was shopping for a tonneau a few months ago. Couldn't justify the cost of a truckboss. Ended up going with a folding tonneau so I can haul a sled in the bed if I need to. But then the issue is what to do with gear. Something like your design would've...

    10' deck trailer

Oooh, gotcha. Drive-on/drive-off. Was thinking it was a tilt..

    10' deck trailer

I haul 153/154" sleds on a 8' deck. Granted I do have a salt shield which extends the front 6" and then angles out towards the tow vehicle so I can put the sleds fairly far forward on it. But even then, it's only a couple inches of overhang. So I'm sure your 154's will fit just fine. I would be...

    Trailer insurance

I have USAA on my truck and they do not cover the sleds or trailer. I have a policy for the sled with Allstate. They also cover the trailer. I had to give them the information for the trailer, but it's a part of my sled policy. Bought the coverage last October. Had to use it this past January...

    Minimalist Thread

Actually, I mis-spoke on the 3-pin connector. You'd probably want 2-pin connectors since you just need ground and hot for the marker lights on the side. Connectors like this: Hopkins/2 pole flat set connector kit (47965) | Trailer Wiring Connector | AutoZone.com If the truck has a trailer...

    Minimalist Thread

Nice setup TNT! Have you considered making extensions for the width that slide into the bed stake pockets? Would be a simple way to extend the width and keep the weight of the sleds down as low as possible. Would probably want to put some marker lights on those extensions to keep the law happy...

    Lets see your enclosed

Good to hear. I think I'll just buy a nice aluminum deckover and only take it out in good conditions till I get a 3/4 ton.

    Lets see your enclosed

How does the Titan pull that kind of trailer when the weather is crappy? I've got a KC Titan just like yours (plus 'big tow' package. Judging from your mirrors, yours does not have the package?) and I'm looking to get an enclosed in the 14'-19' range. Just trying to decide if I should even...

Who's running winter tires on their trucks and if you are, what kind?

Running Hercule Avalanche X-Treme 275/70R17's on my Titan...can't wait to get rid of them. They're the worst studded tire I've ran yet. TO BE FAIR, the truck came with them and I have no idea how old they are. But being 6-ply doesn't help either. I had Firestone Winterforce studded tires on my...

Hauling atv and travel trailer with f150 with 5.5 box???

Damn! I just bought the wrong tonneau then! Had I known about the diamondback, I would've picked that up. Oh well, I'm pretty happy with my Bak G2.

    2-place Tongue Extension?

Yeah, after what I've heard here and from talking to a few people, I think I will have the sleeve welded. Fortunately the guy I'm going to have weld it is the local Triton distributor, and he's one of the most stand-up guys I've ever met. I'll get the sleeve cut and bolted together myself and...

    2-place Tongue Extension?

Haha, some day I will have a big diesel and enclosed.. For now, I'll just have to dream.

    2-place Tongue Extension?

Oh, that is true. I didn't think about insurance and all that. I bet the adjuster wouldn't be too happy if something happened and he went to the shop and saw that it was modified. Also, I think you might be underestimating what a pain a tiny trailer is to back up... Like I said, I have a 14'...

    2-place Tongue Extension?

I don't really want a receiver extension because it won't at all make the trailer easier to back-up. Probably just harder. I figure if I'm going to extend it, I might as well do what I can to make it a bit easier to back-up. I hate backing that thing up as it is now. Plus, I typically leave my...

    2-place Tongue Extension?

Hi all, first post, been lurking for a little while. Love this sub-forum particularly. :d Anyway, I've got a 8'x8' aluminum 2-place trailer with a big custom salt-shield on it. I'm wanting to extend the tongue so that I can haul a 3rd sled in my bed with the tailgate down. (Can only do it with...
