Check with DOT (Dept. of Transportation) or make sure this tank is DOT certified. I know DOT has inspected aux. tanks in trucks and have given fines for non-DOT compliant tanks.

It usually doesn't, but we have seen some scenarios where the probe has broke free/melted do to high EGTs. They never caused any real damage, luckily for our customer, but like I said, we do it "just in case".

We usually put the probe after the turbo, its just safer and less of risk if anything were to break. Like your turbo grenading from a probe piece being thrusted through the pinwheel. :O

I notice in the winter RCMP cars will be idling in parking lots while they are having their breaks/lunch/etc would this bylaw be exempt to them? Or do they also have to fall in line? I would hope they have to otherwise that would be a load of BS.

IMO I would recommend using additives for some very beneficial reasons. First they really help with lubricity especially with the ULSD coming out. For the winter by using an additive with anti-gel, your fuel won't be gummy in cold winter start ups. An additive with cetane booster is good for...
