    Piston Ring

You just looking to freshen your 450? I have used ProX with no issues, price is good. OEM pistons are good but pricey. Wiseco and Wossner work fine too. If you really want to wake that snowbike up put a 520 kit and an ECU on it. You will pull another gear everywhere with it and then some. Let me...

    Piston Ring

What brand of piston are you using? Usually the piston manufacturer specifies their min. gap. Example, CP piston in a Thumper Racing big bore kit specify .0045" per inch of bore size so min. gap is .018" on compression ring. Oil scrapers are min. .005 per inch of bore.

    Coolant handlebars

I've built a set too, not super easy but has worked very well for me. Coolant will not circulate to the ends if you simply have an inlet and an outlet near the center. Run a piece of 1/4" soft copper tube thru the entire bar. Then I drilled and tapped three holes, an inlet and an outlet and a...

    Changing Dealerships

I installed the 2019 Yeti brake shields and PEMS mounting plates and it definitely helped. It almost completely encapsulates the rotor to keep it from packing full of ice and snow. it was a bit of a battle getting them installed in there properly. The 2020 Yeti has a similar setup but its even...

    Rivits??

Hemlock rivets from accufast. You need a 1/4" air riveter to pull them.

    Changing Dealerships

Not sure what happened to Argyll? There was only a couple guys there that seemed to give a hoot about it. Coopers had some changes too with a partnership breakup but not sure how the support is now? Riverside is also a dealer but have not heard great things there either. Are you looking for a...

    Thermobob question

Yep, no problems running it in the summer. I run my coolant heated bars too and just shut them off on warm days. Really nice for the cold and wet days tho. You will have no issues, those temps are right where you want to be.

    New to bikes....

Steep learning curve? No, not at all. I suppose that might depend on your experience either sledding or biking? I would say it is more like riding a motorcycle than a sled, however, experience in riding in the snow will be helpful. They are super easy to ride, most of the learning curve I have...

New snowbike season just around the corner

Well now that we have had our one nice day of summer in Edmonton time to start thinking about snowbike season! Anyone looking to get a bike built? Accessories? Fresh motor failure? What’s causes this ?

Possible that piston was in backwards? The arrow on top which typically points to exhaust side is critical. Reason for this is so it positions the piston so the ring end gaps land on a solid portion of the cylinder wall and do not pass over any of the ports. If the piston is turned 180 degrees...

    Cold Weather starting tricks?

Get a length of dryer duct and take it with you, collapses up real nice and small. Slip it over your truck exhaust and point it at the engine cases. Run the truck for 10-15 minutes and the bike should fire right up. We have been doing this with 100% success, it works very well and is super simple.

    New stuff Coming?

Sounds like the new 2020 yeti kit will be a monorail, likely due to the marriage with Camso. I think a Yeti with the monorail and the Camso track might be the bomb.....

Adding heavier Flywheel to a ktm 450

Flame out is an engine stall in low speed manouvers. Occurs much more frequently in the dirt but have had a couple in the snow. My 2015 Husky FC450 is bad for flame outs. Non-issue once you go with a Rekluse.

Adding heavier Flywheel to a ktm 450

I have run a heavier flywheel in a KTM 450. I didn't intentionally do it but I did a stator upgrade that came with a larger and heavier flywheel. I my case I run a Rekluse so cannot comment on the potential for it to reduce flame outs but I would assume it would be an improvement in this aspect...

    Newbie Snowbike Timbersled Question

Looks like the nut and retainer are in place correctly so if you have that much slack in the chain and movement in the top shaft you likely have a shot bearing. Check them all, they are a maintenance item and do wear out. What year is your kit? If its 2014 or older they are single row greaseable...

Snowbike shop for accessories or custom build

Well I did pick up the Camso kit. It is a 2017 kit and it is mint. This would make a great combo with the KTM350. Bike can be set up with whatever accessories you might want. You design it and I will build it for you!
