Yeah snow is the limitting factor. I'm looking for some info on where the best places are to avoid as many burried stumps and rocks as possible.

you'll find most won't just advertise their "honey holes" especially on a public forum....

When you ride with the red deer bum buds they make you swear to an oath of silence and leaking information is punishable by death, if big Dick is around he may have his way with you before they put you down.....

I too would like to ride out that way more often. Only had the chance twice, both were a couple seasons back as the snow has been pretty poor out there as of late.

It might be good out there today as there was quite a bit of moisture in that recent system that passed.........:d

But in all seriousness, join a club, volunteer some time, and meet some of the locals. It will all fall into place and that way you may avoid the Red Deer bum buds and big Dick......:noidea:

sorry to burst your bubble people the areas don't open to sleds till dec 1 of every year. you risk some large fines if caught out there.

there hasn't been enough snow out there in the last several years to ride until late february, going to need a lot of snow to hide the rocks.

please get informed! get the PLUZ map for the areas. and yes the secret areas are new found. hehe big dick interviews all before the sledding begins. can be a long line up sometimes as he gives thorough interviews.

Keep your eyes on the form once the snow starts. There are a few of us who started riding together in the golden area that reside in central alberta. I personally travel from rd to golden for day trips. Early rise but worth it. I would also like to ride more in alberta this year. There are a few spots but like previously mentioned, dec. 1st and snow dependant!

Rode many years around Prairie Creek. It was in the early 80s. Way different now more roads and access. Asked Dave at Outwest RV campground about the snow levels and he said it has been getting better. Will need a pile of snow to fill in the ruts and holes from the ATVs in this area.
