I was out there on Saturday. Road the Cataract Loop as I was taking out a newbie. Snow is soft, springlike and isothermic on the low elevations. A few dirt patches to negotiate. There was 1 other crew with tracks heading out to Fording. With the new snow and mild winds I imagine that it was quit good up there. In and out sun all day with heavy snow squalls.

Hooked up with Enticer 340 today. The road south out of Cataract is gravel so its done. We headed out by the cook shack across the creek. one side of the bank has rocks showing. Not sure if there is a bridge there or we were on ice. Could get sketchy soon if no bridge.. As mentioned some dirt patches that will only get bigger. We went over to the bridge where the trial heads south and north to Heatherington (SP?). That area is all gravel. We stayed on the trails as much as possible (vrs taking the road that parallels it). A few dirt spots here and there.

The snow is super soft is some areas. Caution riding the trails as if you get a ski off the hard pack it can sink deep. All the cut blocks we were on were hard pack. it must of had a heck of a warm day or it rained. You could see the ice on top of the snow.

On the way back you could feel the difference of how hard the sleds were working thought the soft snow.

Some pictures of the day... We came across some bear tracks and where he was digging in the snow... Or maybe it was baby bigfoot????

Went down to Old Man falls. Seems the farther south we went the less snow there was. Cut blocks were impassible down there.

I was thinking about going tomorrow for a quick day trip, but from the last set of pics. It look`s pretty packed and not much left. Still looks like you all had a pretty good day!

I received a PM asking where abouts the bear tracks were. Thought I would post for all.... Pretty close to the Cataract parking lot. The bridge shown is the one I mentioned above where all the dirt is...
