Did anyone make it up the road on the weekend? Tried to go out Saturday morning the logging road was a sheet of ice and it was pouring rain.

Yes. No problem Sunday. The two inches of fresh snow gave great traction. Scott said it was bad Saturday so I planned for the worst loading tire chains and all. But nobody had any problems (that I Know of)

Have a group headed over Fording on Sat. I can’t make it. If your going can ya point the way over the rocks. I won’t be there till Sunday’s ride an I’m looking for someone to show them the way Sat. Jus think they might get sketched out on the rocks at top of Fording. Ya know how ya angle south when the snow stops up top. Was blowing bad on Tuesday hard seeing the skeg scars on the rocks lol.

We were out yesterday and had a good ride there was about 4" of fresh on the trails to the west in the trees. Very hard packed base tho but trails were pretty smooth [many thanks to the groomer] once your away from the parking lot.

Our group went down the 940 staging out of Cataract today. We went all the way down to the Old Man road and came back north. Be advised that the Old Man road has been plowed from the 940 intersection for 7km going north towards the falls. The road is covered in ice and is down to gravel is several spots. The ice is currently covered in a 1/2" of snow so it was plowed recently. Just a heads up.

So I was out yesterday (Feb 27) and dumb azz me rode with my tunnel bag open and lost a hatchet and collapsible shovel (In a scrunched up drybag). If a member happens to have collected please let me know and I will make an arrangement to pick it up from you.

BTW the snow was great - what is the normal life expectancy of ride-able snow out here?

Tough question. Some year's are great and some year's are garbage! This year i say there is decent snow out there. That being said, above zero temperatures can change things in a hurry.

I have ridden out there in May and haven't been able to ride out there in February! The area Officially closes end of April.

Was out there Sunday. There is snow. From Etherington lot to Fording was bumpy.
Cataract staging might be smoother as they could be getting it ready for the poker rally. But I don't know that for sure.
