Anyone going anytime soon and mind a tag along? I am brand new to sledding. I have been a couple times but rented and had a guide. I decided to buy my own sled and keep going.

I will tell you now I am still unsure of my abilities and how to handle my machine so I am looking to stay close to home (1-2 hours of Calgary) and I am looking mostly for trails till I get feeling better about riding.......

3-4 of us are going to cataract creek on Sunday. We are meeting at the food store next to the Longview turn off around 9:00 - 9:15 tomorrow morning.

Too many land mines for much off trail but it is a good chance to burn some gas. You are welcome to join.

I will have to think on that. I was kind of hoping to ride closer to home for my first couple of times out. I would hate to travel any distance and then make some stupid rookie mistake and not be able to sled or sled for an hour and need to head home.....

I want a chance to get used to my machine and play around a little closer to home before I venture out.

My sled is going in the shop for what I hope is a quick fix of my brakes this week and then I am interested in giving catarack a try. I have Saturday the 17 off.

I have sent Taz an email to see if he is available but was wondering if anyone else might be going that I/we might join as this is a new area for me.

Most of the trail areas you find it is hard to make rookie mistakes, its when you get off the trail you can get into trouble. Crowsnest isn't much further than Cataract. I have been to that area dozens of times fishing, hiking and camping and I haven't yet taken the sled down there. Once I hear some more snow has fallen I wouldn't mind a trip down for the day so next time you are able to go post up a message.

What are you riding?

Hey Polarice
Where were you thinking of going. Sounds like Catarack is beat up pretty bad with this weather. I might be in for a ride on Thursday but I was thinking of trying Blaeberry Creek trail in Golden. Just posted in the Golden space asking for info.

Let my know what you think
