Motorized need to be involved all the time not just when we see a issue. Join some of these committees and get involved.

That's why it is on a week night. No resistance.

Attend and get involved. Be nice and don't start fights. Works against us if it gets messy and loud. Be positive and proffesional

    Re: Nordegg ATV trail closures

Wildland park trail access is established when the Park is. Input from locals and interested party's in the planning stage is very important as they, according to Parks are the most affected. For example the Hubert lake Wildland park allows ohv and sleds access on existing trails only due to the locals voicing thier concerns and insisting trail access in the planning stages. The Fort Assiniboine Wildland Park, on the other hand, does not allow ohv or sled traffic on any of the trails in the park, except for the pre-existing ASA Snowmobile trail. The horse club had good representation and got a lot of trails. Speak NOW, as the Parks mandate is to keep motorized traffic out. Once it is deemed a Park the chances of changeing the rules are slim to none!

Am I correct in reading that this is for information only? Hopefully information can be brought back to people in the larger center's and we can be better organized for future meetings.

The farmers, as nice as they were, staged one of the largest lobby efforts in Alberta history, only to have Bill 6 roll right on through.
If there is any validation to motorized trails being allowed thru wildland parks, Bill Next could easily change that to the liking of the AWA.
Outdoor Recreation must somehow find its way into having a secure position in the room of Gov't of Ab decision-making. We can be environmentally responsible, and besides healthy lifestyle, our form of recreation Does have a positive impact in Alberta's economic diversification future.
And as Glen suggests, being strong, disciplined and professional wins out over other rough'n radical approaches, cleanly in positive results.
