Do sledders need to pack gas in Revy? How many kms is an average day?
Between 3 and 4 hundred km I'd Think....
Depends on the day and what area your in. Most deep days up boulder or frisby I'll pack some and dump it in the sled first chance I get. If it's more hero snow or conditions aren't like your gonna be right to the bar all day then we usually leave em in the truck. It's kind of a good idea for at least one person in a group to have one can just in case.
That said going into joss or area 51 or even caribou and keystone. Yup. It's a long ways to run back to the trucks on ungroomed trails if one guy goes bingo.

Pretty sure the average ride is not 3-400km. Heck, that is very long day in Ontario on a trail ride. I average 65-120 km, all depending on how long the initial trail ride in is, plus how deep the snow is. If going to Blue lake, could be 150km due to the long trail. Generally, we don't need fuel except that one perfect day every trip!

As mentioned previously 65-120 in the area, more if you are beating way to the back ends of places or hitting remote local only zones. A lot of my days are around 100km, fuel light at 80km and then 20km back to truck on fumes.

I'd recommend packing gas, until you get a lay of the land and figure out what you're gonna do in a day.

My biggest fuel day was allan creek 2 years ago with a 2014 xm. I burned my tank, my caddy, went down the the truck and refueled the sled went back up, (thank god for the short ride) and didnt get back to the trailer that night with more then half a tank. I put on 235km that day and was by far the best conditions i have ever rode in and when i headed up that morning i didnt expect it as the day didnt start out that way. EPIC

You never know when you will find the conditions and the energy to kill it all day so i always pack in extra fuel to at least the top of the trail.

I think it’s pretty easy to drop gas anywhere and 99.9% of people aren’t going to touch it as they know it’s there for a reason. The 0.1% is Billy that doesn’t much respect or care about anything as he’s slamming his 60 of rye trying to figure out how to do vertical climbs and not throw up in his helmet. Otherwise we’ve always packed gas just to be safe, anything close or short no, but we’ve went to a spot and thought it was a quick hitter then found a little slice of heaven and had to retreat on fumes.

On deep powder days (fair bit of snow down low) I always took one can on the XM.
Two new style doo cans stacked for the 850, it burns substantially more and even then have had to borrow to get back.
Distance covered will change by easy 50km depending on snow.
I never ride without ar least one can.....except half days on home day.

How do the Ski Doo can hold up stacked up two tall? Is the linQ system that strong? I know it’s empty a can ASAP kinda thing but even on the bumpy trails makes me wonder how that would do, it’s a great idea if it holds its integrity...thanks in advance!

They were a bit wiggly but never fell off.
Without both there a lot of days I would have run out of gas at Renshaw.
Used to fill up as soon as at cabin.
Would fill brother and I up and then get some from him later.
Any real snow depth and with two cans range was 170ish km.

2018/2019 is the year I’m going to make it way back in Renshaw, don’t know when or how yet but it’s a bucket list ride and I’m on a mission!

Your gonna want some spare fuel fuel for that day Especially if the snow is deeep.
