Hand signals don’t work when someone pulls out and crosses the trail in front of you.

Very sad. I don't know the details, but besides hand signals, stay on the right side of the trail, especially on blind corners.

I just about got took out a couple weeks back by a group that were riding all over the trail.(happens lots too) It is 2 way traffic people and it is busy.

Pretty sad, and I've dodged a bullet a few times from guys dropping out of the trees onto the main trails. If guys want to ride the trees, then they should come to a dead stop before dropping onto the trail or crossing the trail to keep playing in the tree. jmo.

Agreed but guys going up or down trail do not need to be going 100mph either.

Sorry but that is like blaming the guy with the right away after someone blowing through a stop sign.

I’m sure both parties failed to follow “mountain etiquette”. Accidents will happen when there’s no speed limits. Right of ways and common sense. Guys on trial were speeding. Guys came into trail and Boom it happened. It’s gonna happen again no matter we over analyze this.

My friend was hit head on by a rental guy headed back up for his daughters backpack... same trail, straight line... guy literally rode over my friend out of control, into the bush and continued to ride away! Luckily no injuries but wrote off machines.

Ya but again.....
there’s no reason to go 120 up/down any trail
unless ur some French frog from out east with a trail sled.
I have had some stupid close calls and I can tell u ,
its making me mad just thinking about it
lol
It’s just useless

save ur gas and energy for the real deep up top

Accident happened in the alpine
He was turning below a small hill of snow when the other sled came
off the hump and hit him blind side
Been riding mountain’s for 25 yrs and always careful so everyone can make
it home to our family’s
This was such a freak accident and life changing event
Hope no one ever goes through this experience
RIP my friend

I don't know if i would word it as a freak accident.
Was out at Boulder yesterday and guess what.......same "F'n" thing happen except the guy never died. Broken rib's and maybe broken back.
Happen at the Sugar bowl around 1pm when his buddy accidentally slammed into him, i never saw the incident but helped stabilize him. A chopper had to be called in with medic and took him away.
Here are some contributing factor's i noticed and told the group involved.
Booze doesn't belong on sled's, drinking highballer's and thinking your a superstar is a perfect recipe for a situation.
Actually told them to take their party off the mountain.
When you ride you need to know at all times where every one is, even when your playing in a bowl. That's the difference between being a good rider and being aware or a dangerous yahoo. Saw them earlier that morning and it was chaos.

Other then those idiots we came across, the ride at Boulder was epic, maybe 20 trucks at most and mostly untouched snow. Saw two groups of 3 rider's all day long and no one else.
Everything from Sugar bowl back to cabin though by 6pm was beat, so we know where most hung around.
KB and i rode well past Turbo, awesome day.

There is one more thing i want to add to this post, when you choose riding partner's, choose wisely. This guy was very lucky that we happen to come around to help him out cause his buddies were useless and had no clue what they were doing.

I'm sure SAR was thrilled to see the party atmosphere on the hill. I hope the cops charged them.

These idiots that ride and drink bring a bad name to the sport
not going to lie back when we started sledding we would bring a few beer up
haven’t done that in 20 years.drive too far to sled to waste time on drinking
And being unsafe
if the rcmp did surprise checks at the trail head at the end of the day
things would change.
