Figured it would be best to start a thread on this so everyone could whine, bi%&*h and complain here instead, of on the SNOW CONDITIONS thread.

Fire Away!

Sooo, if your going to bring your 4 place up a logging road, because that's what we use to access the alpine. Be sure to have good tires AND chains as well as a road radio with BC channels. Be sure to chain up BEFORE you attempt to go up the road. If your running a sled deck you will likely get to to really great turn around spot that is close, if not right at the snow line. DO NOT park your truck there, as it is intended as a spot to "Turn Around" for trucks, trucks with decks, trucks with 2 place trailers, AND trucks with 4 place trailers that did not spin out and jack knife. There are numerous riding areas that do not have a great parking lot till later in the season, and only have road parking for a few months out of the year. Make no mistake, the 4 place trailers a going to be there. if we follow a few simple tips listed above there should be less issues. if you have a sled deck and park in the "Turn Around" spot and a fella with a 4 place pulls up you may encounter violence. as well, if your trying to drag a 4 place an icy hill with out tire chains and you block off a bunch of other sledders, you may encounter violence.

Simple.

4 place enclosed sits at home until we can ride from the lower lots. Other than that its decks and small trailers.

If a guy can get past looks, it's worth buying an older deck. I waited patiently, found an old aluminum deck, crappy ramp and rotted wood decking for $250, new wood and lights, and a couple of home built ramp extensions, for well under $1000 I've got 2 seasons and going into the third season with it. And for you "looks" guys, you can powder coat things for cheap. Me and a buddy were driving/pulling a 19' 3 place, it's nice, but a nightmare early and late season. Deck extends season by months not weeks. I guess the only down fall for you townies would be storage once you pull deck off

How would all the people from Red Deer , CowTown, Edmonton like it if we came to their town where they recreate in their back yard and block their roads because our pos BC junker vehicle broke down in the middle of the road. Pos because BC people drive junk... Oooh wait yah we don't travel to Alberta because nothing to Doo there. Don't sh#t in our backyard buds we don't sh#t in yours... Ooh wait BC is thriving right now what am I talking about, guy that served me my Tim Hortons has a king ranch and a new 850...

Basically it comes down to respect, having a 4 place, the latest 850 turbo'd and the new kit don't make you entitled to take over a road.

And how come Albertans don't buy real ice, snow tires, I literally never never seen a Red Plate with any on.

Flame me away

I would like to apologize on behalf of all Albertans for the stress and hardship we have inflicted on you and your fellow BC buds.I will rush out and buy some studded tires with a picture of a SNOWFLAKE on them immediately and will petition fellow red platers to do the same ASAP!I will also try to convince some of them to put decks in their jacked up F350's and leave the 4 place trailers at home for a while.

Totally agree with using a sled deck for early season. Can I put one on my f150 and haul 2 sleds?

Was kinda comical.

Only 2 truck trailer combos I seen gimped up on Frisby last season was bc plates, one group of goofs I talked to as I rode by was from lower mainland, which is where I'm originally from. All hail Chilliwack lol
