Heading to grizzly lodge for the first time. Does anyone have any feedback on terrain/snow conditions? I've read good reviews but I'd like to hear from SnM members

Well it hasn't snowed anywhere for weeks. The terrain is sick and because it's so far out doesn't get as much traffic as the main popular areas so probably still some goods out there. Refresh coming this weekend from the looks of the forecast.

Ya Bnorth has it, terrain has a bit of everything, very large area with little traffic. Would have no problem finding some snow to play in, if you do, the guides won't. I'm heading there myself again at the end of the month. Look forward to hearing what you find! Would recommend tires chains for your truck, there's a couple km climb that could be pretty bad with a bit of snow/ ice on it.

Nothing is getting deep until Sunday might take a powder day Tuesday

Didn't go up Pokey Saturday as it was snowing and socked in pretty good. Rode the cutblocks and into another area up by the lodge. Was only about 6-8" of fresh over some really stiff base but after this storm cycle this week should be nicely refreshed.

Nice!, thanks for the update. I'm not actually going in until the 16th, we will be staying three days. Forecast looks like rain in Sicamous then so hopefully snowing up top. Sounds like a cool place, hopefully snow conditions are good.

Went there 2 years ago. Fantastic conditions, never road the same line twice. Almost zero avalanche danger. Very expensive bar bill though.

My buddies just headed down today, had the whole place rented out. Was socked in and heavy snow for the last couple days, blue bird and deep yesterday and today. Ive been upto there half a dozen times and never dissapoints! I just get hammered in the boot room on my own bottle before dinner and sip on rums at the bar! lol

I beg to differ in the almost no avy danger. There's some big country back in there. I triggered a huge slide there a day before the big boulder slide at the BIS. Dont let your guard down. You can go along ways up there and if you know where to go you can do a pretty sick loop over pokey and come back over lichen or stay in the valley through grizzly lake.

I'm sure the avy danger will be extreme everywhere in BC for a few weeks now, but thanks for the heads up.

Make sure you have a radio and tire chains . Lots of logging going on during the week . Hill @ 12 km can be sketchy
