Snow level is past the elevation closure gate now at Boulder at 15 km. You can expect the gate to be locked next wk. some time. You are riding about 1/2 km of gravel from gate to hit snow as of yesterday. The closure is to wheeled vehicles to protect the alpine. Please don`t drive up past gate, there is no parking, no where to turn around and the trenches to divert water are deep.

Saw a picture of Frisby with some good snow coverage on it from two days ago... whats summer access like to Frisby compared to boulder? I know boulder has the gate at 15 so likely hardly any snow left at the cabin but Frisby looks like good coverage still. Am I crazy to be thinking about one last summer ride? We can handle a km or 2 of dirt but what does it take?

I saw that pic as well. Its quite amazing with all the heat in Western Canada to date that the snow looks that good at the cabin?

They are saying to stay out of the back country right now. Probably just start a fire or some chit to go sled dirt......

It's worth noting that this is the picture that the fellas are referring to.....and that this cabin is the Glacier Station - not the main club cabin on Frisby.

My friends rode there on July 8th.

i wouldn't now with all the fires personally.

but at least you can drive to the snow on sale.
frisby you'd be riding lots of dirt to get to snow.

Awesome pics ! How long did it take you to get to the cabin ? I believe it was about 25 km from highway to the cabin on sled.

The round trip was 4.5 hours for us. Apparently the hardcore riders can do it in under 2. It's 11km each way gaining about 1000m of elevation total. The staging area is 16.3km up the logging road (go right at the wye). The trail doesn't follow the sled route to get in, it stays a lot lower.
