run one on my razor 800 for over 2000 hard miles and have not changed it. if you put the EPI clutch kit in i would recommend the severe duty belt

So are you saying don't use it with the stock clutch?

they are $100 cheaper than Polaris. If they last and work well with stock clutch then great. I'm trying to find a affordable substitute for the $250 stock belt.

Why do you have to change weights for elevation?

I'm going to Valemont in October with some RZRs is it a concern?

You make less power higher up you go cause of less o2. So you put less weight in your clutch so it makes more rpm before it shifts to compensate for less hp. You probably be ok but when up top the machines will feel doggy.

Doesn't the EFI compensate so it burns correctly? People really change weights for a 4 day trip? Then change back again and so on?

we do it all the time when we go sledding in the mountains the clutches on a atv are basically the same as a sleds. you don't have to do it but don't expect your machine to have the same performance as 0-3000 foot elevation. if your just riding trails that won't be a problem but if you need to climb a steep hill you might find that it will be under powered because the clutch will stay in a higher gear ratio. ask your buddys that your going with and see what they do

Yes the efi does compensate but it just keeps the air fuel ratio correct, your engine still makes less power cause of less air. And yeah a kit of people change weights just for a day or to. After awhile you get good at it lol.

it's not so easy on a atv as getting at and taking the cover off is a pain where as on a sled it's open and most weights and springs can be changed in a half hour. if you do take the cover off to do any work make sure it's sealed good as water and clutch parts don't mix

I used Neverwet on my cover and absolutely everything beads off it. If I crack it open it would technically have to be done again but that stuff is amazing.
