I have a Predator 90 I had some fuel and air issues with it before in witch I replaced a lot of parts one of the parts I did change was the CDI box. I also did put a new top end In it as well as a carb. We did open the stator up and clean it. There was a bit off corrosion but over all looked good.

so pretty much you can ride it for 5 mins then it cuts out like you turned the key off. It glides to a stop. And won’t start up until it as cooled down a bit. It idles fine and runs good when it’s going. Any ideas would be great.

The first sled my dad/me owned did that to us. It would happily take us out for a ride but never took us home.

Eventually found out that during a rebuild, the machinist shaved off double the material instead of half from each side.

It was a 1960 era Yamaha.

But long story short it lost compression when the motor heated up, have you tested from cold to hot to compare?

When I rebuilt the top end I put a new piston and cylinder on. I didn’t get it bored.

Stater issue, I know you said you checked it but after nearly replacing the whole quad that's what it was with my kids

you will still get a spark hot or cold compression has nothing to do with the coil it is the piston and ring to cylinder that is causing the problem that is why you do it hot and cold and compare the difference if 105 cold and 55 hot you have a problem
