I have a 2012 pro with around 700miles on it. Sled is turbo'd but i dont believe the turbo has anything to do with this issue. It was a silber kit fully overhauled/built by boost it. Running xic fuel system. Sled ran awesome in revy at christmas and has sat since in the garage. Took it out this weekend to a sled rally back home here in sask and now i have a wide open bog issue, cut out problem. Sled runs perfect till you hit er wide open. Rpms hit 8000-8100 than bog down to 6700 and stay there and bogs till you let off. Can only run at half throttle. Can do quick wide open snaps but thats it. If held for more than a second or 2 it bogs hard. My afr gauge runs perfect, once bog hits it goes super lean. Ive read about issues with the 11's but everything ive read doesnt really seem like my issue. Mine does it 100% of the time that you go wide open. Gets worse in deep snow under load as well. Checked plugs, blew out plug caps. Checked plug wires. Exhaust valves are functioning. Checked with compressed air and movement while wide open on a stand. I get the same bog on the stand in the garage so i can duplicate it no problem. Where does a guy start? No cel. Hit det a few times but believe it was my oil tank hitting the down pipe (mount broke) doesnt hit det in the garage just bogs. Tps? Voltage regulator? Injectors? No clue where to start. Thought the 12's didnt have the issues the 11's had. Any insight will deffinately be a great help before i just start throwing parts at it

Sounds fueling related, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? I would suggest it could also be the fuel pump, if its got a fuel pressure regulator is it functioning properly?

Not sure on filter. I got the sled with 500 miles on it. Has a apex rising rate fuel regulator non adjustable. Sled runs great except for mid to wideopen. Can cruise down the trail just cant hold it. Pued plugs and one is perfect chocolate brown other is wet. New plugs make no difference that cylinder stays wet. Starting to think i may have cooked/broke a reed petal. Gonna tear it down and check. How would you check the fuel regulator? Its a 1:1 rising rate i believe. Has a boost reference line running to it.

For the fuel regulator I was just referring to making sure the boost reference was still connected, to check it you would have to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to it and make sure the pressure rises with boost, but for actual values you would probably have to contact Boost-It.

You could replace the fuel filter, probably needs to be done anyway. But the plugs being wet sounds weird to me, almost as if a fuel injector is sticking open?

Ya it has me stumped. Its not super wet just looks like a really rich condition. Im guessing that its reeds now that ive been looking into it. Will do fuel filter as well when its apart. Deffinately seems fuel related and just started doing it out of the blue. Might contact boost it see if theyve seen it before. Buddys boondocker pro had issues to in the mid range and it was his reeds. So thinkin maybe mine are due. Would think a guy would get over 700miles out of em.

Sounds like rev limiter to me. You clutched for low level riding?

If it ran good when you parked it, how would the reeds be broken? It usually takes a lot of Reed pedal to make a significant bog like the one your experiencing. I would lean more to fuel pump, or regulator. Maybe even injectors. Which I happen to have a new set for a 12 in my garage. If you need them let know. I had a fuel pump failure that gave me very similar symptoms. Would run fine, but didn't have enough pressure to hold up fuel requirements at wot, especially under boost. Check fuel pressure right on the pump. Seals could have finally dried up while it sat especially if you run av.

What gauge would i use to check the pump pressure? Any way to check the fuel regulator or just replace em? Was thinking injectors as well. Gonna have to fix it myself no dealers around here that know anything about these sleds. You mention boost and they all go blank.

As mentioned above, did you re-weight the primary clutch for the lower elevation?

Ya re clutched and boost down to 5lbs. Was 9lbs in revy. Got 77g weights in right now. Just ordered a new fuel filter will have later today. Put that in and try it out. Still trying to track down a fuel pressure tester gauge. Any body know how to test injectors?

Also running shell premium with torco accelerator. Should be around 105 octane with 2 cans of torco to 40 litres of pump premium. Is race gas/torco hard on fuel filters?

Rode last week with a pro giving very similar issues, tried most everything to fix it, found it was the donut between pipe and y was trashed and springs were not holding a tight seal. Full throttle was opening up drawing air in. Try some high heat silicone and new springs.

Pm'd you about injectors. Yes, I never thought about the exhaust. That's a very good place to start. These turboed pros seem to backfire when cold on start up, and that could have blown out exhaust. It usually affects all rpm though. Not sure where to get the fuel pressure gauge, a but it screws onto the shrieder looking fitting on the top of the fuel pump. There's 3 regulators on that unit. One for each injector on the fuel rail. And one underneath the fuel pump. Have to pull it out of the tank to change filters anyway, so have a look. I think its different then the ones on the fuel rail. And I think you have to buy the whole fuel pump to get a new regulator. And that's about 600. So make sure you test it all first.

Dont have the regulator on the fuel pump any more. Its replaced by an inline rising rate regulator for the boost it xic fuel system. Will check pump pressure once i can track down s gauge for it

The only way he noticed the donut wasn't sealing is he was taking a few rips with the hood off while checking a few things and saw the pipe moving under throttle. He used tie wire to hold it nice and tight and it ran perfect.

Wierd will check it out. I got the hood off so will see if it moves. All my springs are doubled up for the turbo so i dont know if that would be it but will deffinately check it out. Thanks everyone for the input!

Warhawk you think its the torco? Ran the torco in revy and worked well. Have heard good things about it. Gonns siphon out my tank anyways and start fresh. Just put the new fuel
filter in. Could blow through the old one but it was minimal not like the new one. Gonna change fuel before start up with straight av gas see if there is a difference
