During this past weekend riding I noticed a squealing noise coming from somewhere on my sled while sitting at idle. It would be intermittent an not always squeal. Sometimes louder and sometimes you could really hear it when you took the gas cap off which makes me believe that it was coming from my fuel pump? Has anyone else experienced or noticed this on their pro’s? I certainly don’t recall hearing anything like this during the past 2500 miles...

Had similar issue on one of our 2016 Pro's. It was the fuel pump and replaced under warranty.

My problem is No warranty left on a 2013 Pro! Did you have any other signs of failure with your pump? So far there hasn’t been any noticeable blurps or hesitations in the throttle response from a lack of fuel.

My friend and l both experienced this on a spring ride where the engines were running on the hot side while getting to the alpine. Heat transferred from the tunnel into the fuel tank. We were perplexed as to why both our sleds started making this weird noise at the same time. Then we figured out where it was coming from and put a bare hand on the tank. His was actually bogging out some. Once we got into the alpine things cooled off and everything worked normal.

I never did feel my gas tank but i was running the sled pretty hard in the trees and air temps were around -5. Just not sure how the sled tunnel heat would heat up a fuel pump that fast especially since there was lots of snow so the sled temps weren’t climbing above the usual 127ish.. but I suppose anything’s possible. I’m more so worried of a failure that will leave me stranded.

I wouldn't expect to have the overheating problem this time of year, l just threw it out there as a possibility. In our case the gas got hot and probably caused cavitation in the pump.

Just this past ride a 14 Pro in our group started acting up intermittently. Losing power and start at low RPM for 2 seconds and stall. We had to dribble a bit of gas in the plug holes to get it to fully start. Once running l could hear the pump whining. It ran fine for a while, acted up one more time, then flawless the 30km ride out of Silent.

I did have it once where I started the sled after running it hard and it was at a low idle (900-1000rpm) but that was the only blip all day. And I’m pretty sure everyone’s sled had done that before. I’ll have to see if a guy would be able to replace on the hill if I was to Carry a spare...
