Broken pull start rope

Broke the rope on the pull start (2012 Pro RMK163). After a bit of research it seems like the proper way of removing the recoil is to remove the engine mounts on that side and tilt the engine to get at the lower bolts of the housing. Has anyone got at the bottom bolts with an allen key? Any other ideas?

Yes, bottom bolts can be removed with and swivel and extension. No need to lift engine.

broke them loose with mini breaker bar and allen socket attachment, finished backing them out with regular allen keys.
