Fix kit for 2013 pro

Well, my luck is not as good!

2012. 1600 mile, compression good, equal, and no change since new.

Sled ran perfect, no issues.

Took it it apart for preventive maintenance.

Everything looked great until until I got the cylinder upside down for a look,


and I have a crack in the mag side cylinder skirt.


Tick, tick, tick........

so now what?

you sir need to fix that crack. I have used these guys and highly recommend. www.fastent.com
If you buy everything from them they will drop the price.

Some dealers have reconditioned cylinders on the shelf and they will give you a core discount for your mono block. Call around.

Mots has some in stock a couple weeks back.

Yes he does. I called him this morning, I just need pick it up. Same price as sending away , and don’t have to pay shipping or wait.

That’s where I got my fix kit too!

Thats why I recommend them and use them as well. Great crew.

Well I would argue that... I would be more inclined to say;
your sure lucky you found that before it let go!!! That would have made a mess of the bottom end...��

Yes. If that let go, hopefully she burst into flame like in a movie!

Save the time of recovery and a part out!


I highly recommend an visual inspection for anyone with 1000 miles or more, or unsure where you are at. Especially if is an 11 or 12, the cylinder skirts are crazy thin.

As said before, sled ran perfect, and compression was the same as the day I bought it. No indication that it was ready to blow! I was second guessing if I really needed to do a top end yet until I found that crack.

2100 miles on my 13 and she's finally had enough. I have read through the entire thread and still not sure if I should go with a Fix Kit or OEM replacement? Plan on riding the sled next season and then upgrading to an Axys

Mtntk fix kit and don’t look back. I’ve installed 10-ish over the years and not a single issue with any of them. Just plain works.
