Going to be doing the top end on my 12 Pro RMK in next week. Been reading about RKs fix kit, Mtntk fix kit, heard some people say go with stock 14-15 pistons. What did you replace your pistons with? How many miles have you put on them since then? Just doing this as a preventative rebuild. Sled has 3800km.

Ive had great luck with RK Tech direct replacement pistons. Ive put over 1000 trouble free miles on. They are a high quality Wossner piston built to RK Tech specs. They are lighter, stronger, and outstanding quality. If RK Tech aren't in your budget, then look at the regular Wossner pistons. Way better then stock. Tom at Motts Machining in Edmonton usually has them in stock.

I had good luck with the snow x kit. Its a cast piston, more like a stock replacement but better. Had oiling holes in the piston sides and in the ring grooves.

Cast isn't effected by cold starts as much as a billet piston. If you go with billet get the coolant bypass kit.

Does RK Tek ship from canada? I didnt see a quote for those SnowX pistons. And what the general opinion on fix kits for the 12? Worth spending the money on or perhaps not all their hyped up to be?

Mtntk. I've done 5 sleds and not a single problem. Drop in kit if you want to add a little extra zip. Works great.

I paid 400 canadian delivered for the snow X fix kits. That was in 2013 though. Have to call them and see. The exchange rate isn't so nice anymore.

I have heard nothing but good with, RK Tek. Send Rhodesie a PM, he might be able to help you out with getting a set.

I'm interested in this as well, currently around 3400km on my '14 assault, preventative maintinece and some more power would be nice. Rk tech drop in kit vs Mtntk drop in kit. Rk claims pretty much double the power of the mtntk kit??? Doesn't seem like you can go wrong with either kit but if RK makes the power he claims it does then really it's a no brainer for the little extra his kit costs.
