Would the screw with the black plastic head and spring on the left side of each carb be the idle screws? If so how many turns back from slightly seated should they be? I do have the manual for the sled and it doesnt say squat.

Also what height should the slides be set at?

I believe they should be set at 1 1/2 turns out from fully seated.
I just sold mine before xmas with the manual but will try to get you a picture of the pages you need.

I will double check but I think it's with throttle closed.
I had a shop manual, so a little more info.

No, there is a cut out on that side of the slide.

The screw doesn't hold the slide up. This is set with a gaping tool to sync the carbs.

there is no set amount of turns. I have set my carbs by looking at the slides through the throttle bodies while the air box is off. You will need to (with the engine off) open and close the slides each time after adjustment. I let them slam down from full throttle. adjust them so you think they are equal. Start the sled and see where your Idle is. If its to low adjust them equally from that there.

That's half the job. After that you need to adjust your cable adjusters so that both slides start to lift off idle at the same time.

I never measured anything, just did it by eye. The CORRECT way to do it would be with vacuum gauges on both carb bodies, but doing it by eye always worked just fine for me. Just get your idle right, then check they're both open the same amount at idle. Once you get that set then just push your throttle ahead with the engine OFF and watch the slides. Adjust the cable adjusters so that both start to lift at the same time. Pretty easy really.

Is there not a correct height though to set the slides at?
