As per title my uncle has a 1980 tx 440 free air that he is in the middle
of doing a full engine build for. His primary is the closed basket type, and
need's repair.
Question, I have read several threads on vintage sled's.com regarding
switching it over to a P-85, trouble seem's to be polaris made a short, med,
and long crank output end in those year's.Is it worth the hassle to combine
the outer shieve with his stock inner to make a P-85 work on his engine?
Or should I get him to buy new weight's,roller's,and bushing's for his old
closed basket primary?
Thank's for any advice from anyone with first hand experience. With this old
iron.
