Seeing lots Pro's with different bars on them, just curious as to why. I really like the pro tapers. What's the gain from changing them?

I don’t see to many up here that are changed if any at all, I really like the pro taper. I did try one sled with the low rise and it was to low for me but that’s personal preference I guess.

People changing out the bars to whatever brand/flavour of the week bars do so because it’s cheap and easy for them to do and it’s cool for the gram likes and follows.

Most people don’t even consider the pullback/sweep and how it positions their hands or they cut them down because that’s cool too.

As far as height goes, while it’s a preference thing and based a lot on your own ride height the lower the bars the greater control you have when counter steered as tall bars push you further away from the sled.

I change out my bars but I don’t pay premium prices for snowmobile branded bars. I source a bar that has the height and pullback that I prefer.

Pro taper bars on a Polaris when jarded hard act like a spring as they flex
cfr bars are stiff as a rock and just feel better and solid
its Not a fad as others may say
they just like that skidoo feeling lol
u can also play lego with cfr bar when u break off ur post to get home at the end of the day
can’t b done with any other bar.
they also feel way better when u get thrown off ur sled hard in the forward way of things lol
no fads there when ur ride hard

I have ran CFR bars on a few sleds. I wouldn’t say they “feel” any better but clearly I don’t ride hard because I don’t have a finger throttle either.

Typically bars with a cross bar like the 7/8 protaper flex less due to the cross bar providing stiffness where 1-1/8 taper bars flex more. That’s the selling feature of many taper style bars as flex equals shock absorbing. It’s long been this way for motocross and other bikes. You can find bars of varying stiffness and flex though and some cross bar style bars can have more flex but typically are marketed as such.

Not saying what I would is perfect. Just sharing experience. As someone with wrist injuries from sledding flex isn’t a bad thing but again don’t notice as much with 7/8’s pro tapers which is why I tried 1-1/8 CFR bars and still didn’t notice much difference. Not sure how that is hating on a company but that is your take on it.

One thing I do like about t post mods and using an actual riser is bar positioning options change greatly. Now rather than just pivot the bars on one axis you can change the angle and still rotate the bars.

Can't say I've ever really noticed how much bars flex when riding, I've got the mid rise tapers on my axys and have no complaints, they're comfortable even with a history of broken wrists. Guess I'm gonna have to jump on someones who's changed them out and see if there's a positive difference. I'm not against aftermarket bars or munsters but I do feel like its more of a fad, and I'm not about to throw money at anything I don't have an issue with either.

The munster thing is another one, never tried one but they're comfortable on the jet skis so I'd say its a preference thing for sure but again I have no issues with a thumb throttle so why waste the money. Maybe I, just sheltered and need to get out more.

BTW I've been playing lego since way back...

Its pretty easy to see that you are hating on aftermarket bars and finger throttles lol

I run after market bars, I already said that. Lol

The Finger throttle gangs on FB do make me laugh though. As far as I can tell if you don’t run one you don’t ride well according to them. But each to their own.

Fair enough. I dont go on facebook or run a finger throttle.

Some guys swear by them though.

I ran one for a bit. It’s not for me, plus the sled lost 200-300 rpm because the sweep/pivot of the throttle isn’t the same. Apparently they fixed it on new models.

Why would you put those Polaris bar end hooks back on? Those are reason enough for me to switch bars.
