The new build has started for the 2020/21 season.

I bought a 2019 800 155 LE from Cycleworks for cheap, and decided with how much fun the Alphalaris was last year, that a boosted one would be even better. There is a ton going into this build. I made my own drop brackets out of 304 stainless steel. Im installing a 165 skid and track along with custom drivers from Powder Freaks.

I purchased a Silber turbo and will be running 5lbs at first and take it from there.

I will be gearing it down with a kurts kit -2.38, team tied race secondary, clutching, Trencher arched A Arms, burandt evol 3 fox shocks all the way around, ZRP lightweight engine rotating kit, the most powder coating I have every done, slydog skis should be able to make me a one off set of skis match the powder coating and wrap, matching seat cover and a Coors Original theme and wrap.

Hopefully i have everything done by the end of November. Here are some of the first few pics. Ill try and update the progress every week.

More progress. The alpha conversion kit came in. I installed the shocks, finished the drop brackets, made a center to center jig to ensure perfect fit and got it all installed. Almost time to send everything out for powder coating. The alpha skid with Chris Burandt shocks is over 9lbs lighter than the stock 155 polaris skid and monotube shocks.

How did you set your skid angle? as in, bottom of suspension rail to chassis angle? I've done it a few different ways in the past and always curious how others do it. Its critical to get the center of drive shaft, front suspension mount and rear suspension mount all in the right geometry to the chassis.

I had both sleds in the shop. Measured the differences between the 2 and build the rear drop bracket to have the as close to the exact same balance as the stock skit would. I didn't really want to mess with the front mounting location. It was out a bit compared to the ctc on the ascender chassis to the axys chassis. I did my best with the drop bracket to get a close as possible.

The problem with the alpha is they have such a huge drop and roll, you would need a new support bracket in the front and move the whole skid back to be exact. This way worked well last year... some boost might change that this year. Time will tell. teh other issue is the ctc between the mounting locations is further with the alpha skid that had to be taken into consideration as well. All said and done, the skid had to moved 1.35" down and 0.1875" back.
