So I had my 20 850 163. 2.6 in Renshaw on the weekend It was hitting 8350 and running like a champ. I thought it should be around 8200.

Should I be looking at adding heavier weights ?

These 850's love the weight,.. I'm running dalton 10-70's with 3gr extra in each - 5/8 screw I believe. Up high 7000ft I'm pulling about 8150, down lower 8200, I'm also running Dragonweld's clutch kit.

Whats your setup now?

You will peak over, then pull back in powder. I would just run it for now and pull back on anything higher than 8300rpm as you will just be leaned out and over torque curve.

Ya. Was thinking the same thing
I will wait till it’s out of break in and then look at a clutch kit.

I think you will want to get those RPMs down with clutch changes.

I'm going to put a few more hours on our new to us, used 2019s, and then get a couple of clutch kits from Ben aka Dragonweld. I've never seen anyone so fast to call as Ben, and super helpful. I fired him off a PM on here, and he called me within 15 minutes.
Really nice guy!

8150-8250 is a good target! I’m at 8250-8300 and pulls strong, but I went a different route using MDS weights which have a slightly different curvature profile and I’ve got them set to 74 grams with the stock components. I just added an SLP head so will find out next week if any changes need to be made.

So after this weekend of riding in McBride with the new SLP head and I already had the competition can I didn’t notice any real difference between this and the stock offering. Rpm stayed the same running 8150-8300, throttle response and cooling same. Not what I would say is a high altitude offering. Now below 5000 that may change but trail riding and not clutched properly it’s hard to tell will have to try around home.
