Was riding back to truck after a wicked day, about 2 minutes to the truck started making horrible sounds and decelerating, then shut down stopped and ceased up. Couldn’t pull the cord. About 10 min later I could work the engine over slowly, but was binding. Then a few pulls later it fired up and ran to the truck.

My buddy says that’s what happen when they blow.

This is my first Polaris so I’m clueless.

Sled had oil.... never over heated..... 2019 850 RMK 450 km on sled. 60 on new crate motor. (I bought it with a brand new motor and rode it for about 60 km)

I’m going to take it to the shop when they open Tuesday. Guess I’m after some internet opinions till then.

Yep sounds like it’s done. They will typically fire back up after they cool back down and go for a bit again until things get hot and then lock up again. Sorry for the bad news

This is crap. Can't the sled makers make the sleds to last a bit? all of them have issues which is bull****. You pay dearly for them and you should be able to have no issues for a long time. I have a axys and it's been good so far. I did have a dragon and I had bad luck with it. Just my morning rant. Sorry guys

I rode an arctic cat last year. Never even cleaned it’s clutches once and gave me no hassle lol

No it never got hot. I wouldn’t over heat a snowmobile I know better than that !

I’ve got a feeling the oil pump wasn’t working as it should.....

Thanks for the replies guys.

**** happens ! It’s all good.

Id say its toast. On my 3rd motor in my Axys, it runs great, then does exactly what your describing. The dealer can never find anything wrong which is the frustrating part.

How come you switched from the Cat if it worked so well for you?

Sounds like a top end seize to me and then freed up when it cooled down. Take it in before riding again, don't push your luck they usually lock up again.

Yup. She’s done alright. Could not fire it up to get it off the truck.

To the shop it goes. Thankfully we don’t have much snow at home, yet .......

Hope they have 2020 crate motors in stock :)

.

Just wanted to try all the flavors. Been on doo for 10 years. Cat last year, Polaris this year ... and see what doo brings out next year ... or keep riding the Polaris if it gets sorted out.

I like a solid skid and track. No more bendy wobbly business.

Why did it have the motor replaced before you bought it? What occurred the first time is what I would want know as it may have lead to the second failure.

When the motor was replaced did they put it back into break in mode?

Definitely check the oil lines as they were an issue on a few 19’s.
