Polaris Warranty and Support

Just thought I would share this with everyone as normally we don’t hear about the positive outcomes all the time. I snow checked two 800 Axys for my boys in 2018. Took delivery in the Fall and honestly had nothing but issues from day 1. The sleds ran very rich, fouling plugs constantly. Many trips to the dealer and nothing could be resolved. Put up with this for the entire season. Needless to say 2 kids that were not so happy and I was really frustrated. Start riding this season and of course same problem. Really frustrated to the point of considering not picking up my snow check. Polaris steps in and requests a specific dealer look at it. Take sled 1 in. They spend a lot of time diagnosing and find a faulty TPS which did not show up previously. Since that day sled runs perfect and all covered. Take in sled 2. Diagnosis is the same except way out of adjustment. Again all covered. Also had 2 rear axle wheels getting chewed up. Replaced. 2 weekends later the wheels are shredded. Back we go. Polaris requests specific diagnosis and sure enough something wrong. Replace entire drive line including track. All covered.

What could have ended up in a lost customer turned into a positive experience. Polaris stepped up and honored the warranty without any issues. Thrilled to have such good support from Polaris and the dealers.

Yes a little concerning the first one couldn’t diagnose a TPS issue ??????

I have also had good results regarding Polaris warranty. What was causing the rear axle wheels to get chewed up?

Sledtillded:

If it didn’t show up when they plugged in the computer, they won’t check it. I’m going to assume the second dealer physically took a multimeter and checked the resistance instead of relying on what the computer said. I could be wrong too. It’s known to happen more than 5 times a year.

Ktmsx350f recently choked in about the digital wrench and TPS sensor. Don’t know how this compares to the tool he was talking about of vs a multi meter.

Either way I would like to know both dealers involved!

I have one sled tps was adjusted multiple times and replaced and adjusted by a couple dealers sled always had an issue of low idle and rich at times. Got the tool from Indy dan same tps set with Indy dan tool and perfect. Put it in digital wrench now and it shows off that it needs adjusted. (Has it hoped up to get a egt sensor code) dealer offered to adjust it I told them not to touch it.

I’ve talked to multiple people since that have had no luck with digital wrench setting it but when using Indy dab tool it pc5 it’s perfect

Actually I believe it could have been related to Digital Wrench. Both dealers are plenty capable, so that was not the issue. Other thing is TPS is an electronic piece. In the first year it may not have failed and for whatever reason after riding in year 2 it failed. Regardless it is sometimes better to get a second opinion and if there ever is a next time I will not hesitate to do so. As for the skid, it sounded as though it was alignment related. The drive shaft was really bad, the track was getting chewed which resulted in axle wheels shredding. They basically changed everything so hopefully when we ride next year everything is good.

I thought Polaris warranty was in the same category as Big Foot and Olgopogo? A myth.

For 850 owners that have had engine problems they have also given them an extra years warranty and a $716 Canadian online credit. That's stepping up!

I have heard this also and know a friend that had a 850 go down and received the same treatment... a new motor replaced in 8-10 days $700+ dollars to spend at his dealership and an extra tr warranty on the sled. I wish other manufacturers were as accommodating. a friend bought my 2016 axys and took it in to Cycle works foothills 3 or so months ago for what he expected to be a malfunctioning TPS they found $4600 worth of work that needed to be done to the sled all covered by warranty, they also gave him a sled to use for the following wknd so he could go riding with his son the weekend. and the weird part is he had never dealt with that dealership before.

Wonder if this will apply to mine. It's getting the engine torn apart and a check valve replaced. Anyone else have to have this done to theirs?
