Well I got tired of having a really useful tool that only worked when my sled was running. I was able to track down a guy in Colorado that makes a very reasonably priced cable and battery holder. Excellent customer service too. CV Customs is the company and Cole is excellent to deal with. Tried it out today and what a great upgrade to a great gauge cluster. No the gps stays on even when I shut my sled off and I don’t lose my track. Battery is a Antigravity LG401 off Amazon. All in the cost was about $250. Well worth it.

I should add the battery holder bolts onto the back of the foot well where the factory battery holder for estart goes. The battery and the holder are only about 1” thick so it does not interfere with the quick drive in any way. Nice and clean install. I’ll try to post a picture in the next few days.

Ok here are a couple pics. One with the battery holder cover off and one with it installed. Really like this setup. Nice and clean plug and play. Love the saved tracks with full lines as the satellite connection is never lost.

That is a really slick setup!

I assume it will shut down the PIDD with the key in the off position?

I have been wanting to do this ever since I got my sled, I was thinking a capacitor wired in just so it wouldn't restart when going into reverse would be great, but I really like this setup

Yes it powers down when you turn the key off. CV Customs sells the cable for $35 and the battery holder is similar. Nice to work with something that is purpose built. No fooling around to make it fit and cost us reasonable. I bet the oem cable ain’t cheap.
