Goes in tomorrow, but my guess is the crank bearing failed. Just made it out of the break in and boom!

It is a buddies sled, but I am pretty sure it was an early one. I was talking to the dealer about the crank issues a few days ago, and they said it was a problem with too much sealant between the cases that plug up some oil ports. It literally failed 2kms after the break in. Sled started running awesome, then died. At least it died on the trail in and not in the back where we were headed to.

Yup. Any Nov or prior builds shouldn’t be ridden IMO. I would have dealer pull all oil lines and replace b4 I picked it up, But I am sure they wouldn’t do that. Have to wait till it blows up and get a new engine. Just hope it’s not a Heli ride back to the truck.

5.2 kms from the truck! It wasn't revving past 7400, so we changed the plugs. Cleaned up and was a rocket for about 2 kms. Then it became a boat anchor. Oh well, new motor is on the shelf. They are easy to swap out, so should be up and running for the weekend.

Mine is running top notch, thought mileage was an issue but was just in my head. No plug fouling,.. no hard starting, starts first pull,.. I can live with the partial 6000rpm bog and I think I have the low rpm throttle hang figured out.

Dropped it off on Tuesday morning, had the sled back with a new motor Wednesday at noon. Gotta love service like that. Really impressed with the dealer here in Kamloops

Great dealer service!

What is wrong with the engine that would cause it to fail so early?

The centre bearings on the crank failed. Plugged oil port is my guess due to excessive sealant between the cases.
