Flooded 850s

Just curious - when the 850
is flooded - why can’t a person remove the 2 crankcase drain bolts like years gone by in the triples- that should drain the bottom end of excess fuel- give it a quick start and then replace the plugs. In the manual it’s
Identified the plugs are for draining due to hydrostatic lock.....

would this not not work for the folks that have flooded it beyond belief?

Regardless plugs have to come out,. pull the fuel pump plug, crank machine over a few times to rid fuel, install new plugs, connect pump connector and start. Sounds easier than trying to reach in there and remove a couple case plugs,..

Crankcase won't fill with fuel injected engine. If its flooded the spark plugs are wet and won't spark. Simply dry plugs or replace them.

This doesn't always work on the 850 because of fuel mapping

The new Polaris 850 will flood? I hadn't seen or heard of it..

Used to just hit the kill switch on the old sleds b4 pulling it over a few times, find a different set of plugs in the rear seat pouch, hit them with the lighter to warm them up and dry em off, giver again till the next time the sled cools down..ha.

Start sled only if you’re going to ride it. Let it warm up till engine cold goes off and ride.

Most of these fouled plugs issues are starting it and not riding it.

Start it, ride it, put load on motor and it’ll be fine.

A/F is 13:1 at idle

I only fouled 1 plug during the first 2 hours of break in. No problem after that. The crankcase does not get filled with fuel. The plugs just get wet and won’t ignite. Pull the plugs and pull a few times with the kill switch off. Put in dry or new plugs and away you go. The first 2 hours is rich oil and fuel. Me t 12 is rich on fuel.

You must have the switch off and it will clean right out and fire right back up when you switch it back on.
