Is this before or after BRP changed there HP #'s in light of the new G4... LOL :d

Maxwell said it should be comparable to the 800 etec, everyone who rides a doo knows the 800 etec made 163.9 hp, so obviously being the sled is still lighter than a G4, more capable in the mountains, anything about 164 HP is a win compared to the 145hp Liberty lol

maybe im wrong, but im just looking into this motor a little bit. I also heard they failed one on the dyno at dynotech, now that could be a rumor from the brand loyal guys im not sure. Im hoping this motor has the same reliability as the 800 etec had.

I put some seat time on a couple in Revy this past spring. I have rode Doos for the past 15 years, so it took me half the day to get the hang of the axys chassis. The new motor pulls really good. I was riding my buddies 800 axys with the stage 4 slp and we both figured the new 850 pulled better. The motor is pretty smooth and the power is a bit sneaky. The new front end is a big win as well. the narrow front end makes the sled tip up easy on its edge like my doo but is a bit more predictable. The sled is a win and it might make me consider a brang switch.

I had heard about a recall on every single unit a few weeks ago. Not sure what the issue is or if this is even true so I guess only time will tell. I am definitely interested in seeing how both the alpha and the new Polaris do this year as i'm up for a new sled next year.

Cat could loose 50 lbs but I believe if they come out with their own 850 a lot more guys will be on them.

50# loss and a Poo would seem heavy but Cat could use a diet.
On the upside they won't buckle like a beer can without a brace.
There is a a robust frame and bulkhead under the tight fitting body panels that rest on the fuel tank wings so your knees don't penetrate the side panels.
Pulled the new toy apart a bit on weekend - solid build.
An 850 would be nice, pier pressure for sales will have one out soon enough from Textron.
As the 850 and the 840 are basically the same hp Cat has a steady target to hit.

I think it is going to be a great winter of testing, comparing and borrowing your buddies sleds!!!!!

These manufacturers can easily outdo each other in the power department, it's the power with low emissions and durability that is the challenge.
