2018 Thermostat

Picked up a new 2018 RMK on the weekend. I'm surprised how much better it is than my old Pro with SLP stage 3.

The engine was running cold, only 91F. I know the 2018 have a colder thermostat (110F vs 120F). I'm pretty sure the thermostat needs to be changed. Anyone else have issues with thermostats?

Mine ran 95 to 110

Did you work it hard? Bet the temp comes up once you start working it abit more

Yup that's my guess, work it abit and the temp will come up to 100-110. My 11 pro with remote t-stat runs 95-98 in fields with a bit of snow (not working hard at all) but once I get into some snow and get over half throttle it comes up to 105-110.

I would expect the engine to hit 110F easy with the tstat closed. 91F seams way to low, especially to break an engine in. If the tstat is closed until 110F, where is the additional cooling coming from?

It ran cooler when I was running it vs my dad. I worked it harder but threw more snow at the cooler.

Its fine, run it hard, hard hard hard. if you arent 3/4 throttle most of the time (you need pretty deep snow for this) you arent working it hard.

Keep in mind that during break in for the first 18 hours it’s going to be really rich. Both my 18’s run around 95-105
