Just wondering who on here has made the switch from riding an XM to a AXYS? I'm currently running a 2015 Freeride, i absolutely love it. But im thinking of
buying a second sled next year and by the looks of it i could get a brand new axys for cheap. I have yet to ride one which i plan on doing this spring. Anything specific
that i should be looking for?
Any info or feedback would be much appreciated!

I have rode XM for 3 years and picked up an Axys as a second sled. The stock Axys feels like it has slightly less power in deep and climbing. Stock boards on the Axys are narrow takes a few days to get used to. Other thing you will notice the Axys doesn't role as easy side yo side or pull back into the side hill as easy as an XM. I put the 46" kit kn mine cuz i kept riding my XM instead after the 36" kit one full day of riding and ordered a turbo for the Axys. With the 36" and turbo it's one of the most fun sleds I've owned. Side hills fir days effortless and can put it in super tight spits. At the end of the day im kot really tored or sore most day even after a full tank or more.

I made the switch on the first year of the axys from '13xm. I really like the sled. As said above, they are short on HP compared to the doo, but make up for it in some handling aspects. I find i put this sled in spots I would never dream of with my xm, not saying the xm wouldn't go there, i just feel more comfortable on the axys. I put the jaws pipe on the axys, and i feel its pretty comparable to what the doo was. I'm not brand loyal in anyway either, but my dealer for polaris is waaay better then my doo dealer was, which was part of my reason to change.

Went from a 2014 Summit 163 to a 2016 boosted Axys.. The Axys is harder to throw into a sidehill than the XM, but it will hold the sidehill much better and will lay into the hill much further with the narrower side panels. I haven't looked back yet!

My Axys is boosted now too that was part of it for me i wanted boost and was worried about the XM rods they have alot of issues with boost. So decided id lean to ride the Axys lots of tip.rides ride it well. I still have my T3 but it doesn't ckme out of the trailer now. Only thing i miss is down hill decents the Axys will never be as good as the doo down hill

Compared to a Freeride the Axys should feel lighter and more playful. The XM will still initiate movements with less effort. Less effort is more energy for you but the Axys tends to hold a line when on edge and when washed out will still move forward.

Its a toss up. If you want a sled that takes less effort to initiate into a desired position or off camber situation, stay with an XM. If you want a sled that takes less effort to ride and hold a line then go with the Axys.

Jereber,
If your demo is wheeling like crazy and trenching out, like mine did when I first got it, then quickly firm up the rear skid shock with spring and dampening, then loosen the front skid shock. Made a world of a difference for me and an easy "in the field fix". Enjoy!

Went to pine pass! Wicked Sled loved it on the trail in more than my Freeride which was surprising. This sled is insane for sidehilling and playing in the trees i couldn't believe the things i could do with this considering just using
it for 2 days! True it doesn't have the bottom end my ski-doo has but still good consistent power. Definitely going to consider getting a 2016-2017 155 2.6" for $10,000
