Doo runs narrow ski stance and sell the most mountain sleds by a margain and only way cat could get the pro climb chassy to work was narrow it so only makes sence the same stance works on an Axys

Proclimb chassis works fine in a 38".

Thanks for the insight. I have not thought about putting a narrow front end on it. I know how to ride, and am waiting to get bashed on for "You don't know how to do this or do that" crap. I have rode for over 30 years and would consider myself above average just wanting to know what guys are doing to solve this issue.

After a couple rides on my Axys 155, a little counter steer, blip the throttle and lean all in one motion, and the sled would be on its side so far the track was coming out of the snow. This is on a down hill descent or on the flat.

Proclimb chassis works fine in a 38".

36" makes it way easier. To pull a 38" cat back into the hill or put on edge takes alot more effort then an xm or 36" onnmy Axys. The number of times you do this in a day to burn a tank of fuel or more then do it 5-10 days in a row makes a big difference. The cat is heavier and the wider skis make it more planted. Depending on rideing style some people that don't ride trees or steeper terrain may not notice it. I have had bothba cat ajd Axys that i narrowed and the amount of effort to ride is less and they both seem to handle better with no negitive effects IMO. Ive had guys that ride cat or polaris ride both that were narrowed and they agreed that it was a noticabke difference and liked it

I ride a 16 XM and absolutely love it, I have tried the newer pro's as I ride with a lot of the guys from the local Polaris shop so I get to try them quite often and I agree the doo's for my riding style is easier to ride especially being that I am only 5'6" and 145 lbs. I have no gripes with either I just thing that you should buy what your riding style prefers. My cousin had an XM, went to the pro and is now on the 850 and probably won't look back to the pro. Reason being his riding style. The other thing that I am curious of though is if you are making all of these adjustments on the pro to make what you want then would it not make sense that it would take less adjustments to make the doo what you want if you are already semi comfortable on it? just some food for thought.

I have both the Doo and the Axys. At first hated the Axys boards but realized it was my clunky boots donyour self a favour and buy klim adrenaline boots best in the market and haven’t had an issue since. As for turning into a steep down hil I also felt it was easier on the Doo at first then realized that you stand on a different spot in the boards of the Axys and it’s just a different technique to pull it into the hill. After a while riding the Axys I can’t go back to the Doo it feels like a fat heavy tanks. Learning to ride the Axys has made me ride better and go steeper and tighter cuz it holds an edge so well

So being you are 5’6 and 145lbs you have problems riding a Pro?

If you look back through this post last year I would have said hands down the skidoo was easier to ride and less effort. I spent almost all of last year (40 plus days) on my Axys cuz I put a turbo on and really stared to like it. This year first trip was 22 days. Rode my Axys most of the time till I needed an A arm. Got back on my skidoo for a few days. BIG eye opener !! Axys is a way way way better sled if you like steep and tight terrain. When ppl say they are harder to pull back in they aren’t doing it right(me included at first) Axys is effortless to ride compaired to the skidoo once you learn the chassis. Side hills are so fun and you can push it so much further with the Axys. Hands down the 850 has more power but it’s skid is so horrible it’s not even all use able. Stock skid on a Polaris handles 10 lbs of boost better then stock skidoo skid handles stock engine. After a coupe days on the skidoo still felt like a heavy tank and i hates it. I have become a better rider on the Polaris and no would take the polars over Doo any day. I am now getting a second Polaris turbo and have no interest in ridding my Doo (even after just putting a new turbo kit on it) the one thing skidoo will always do better is not catch an edge in low condition and down hill descents are more fun on the Doo.

Did you say your first trip was 22 days? Most guys don’t ride that a year!
