I bought the rigid set because of the price point. It has been great. The makita led lights stay on without the trigger pressed, which is a great feature, but for the same price I got the one-hand recip saw with the rigid and I love it. All the steel workers I know swear by the makita. Talk to anyone on the epcor tower or the spady centre to the north and they are running makita all day (a couple have bosch) and can't say enough good.

Not much help, but there you go.

Mikey, I have a Mastercraft Maximum 14.4 volt Ni-Cd and its really the greatest tool I have in the chest. No complaints at all and as you know I use it every single day wrenching on quads. It also has the drill option on it so you can use it for small drilling jobs. Love it. Had it for two years.

go dewalt mike.....on site i have used them all....milwake, matercrap, bosch, makita.......each of those have they're up's and downs, dewalt is kind of the the best "all round" battery life is great, power is great, weight isnt bad, and they're warranty is second to none.....i have the set and it has been beaten and abused for years, and still runs like the day i bought it.......

I have the dewalt 1/2" cordless impact gun, and then bought several sets of impact sockets from princess auto and carry the full set in the truck. It will loosen 1 ton lug nuts...... You won't be disappointed. Coming from an automotive journeyman interprovincial licensed master technician(and business owner)........just sayin'

My mastercraft has lived through a lot of abuse, battery life sucks though.

I'll tell you this much, pick one brand and stick with it. Life's a lot easier if you have interchangeable batteries.

I've had chitty luck with Dewalt cordless stuff. I ended up buying a bunch of cordless Ryobi stuff from Homo Depot. It's not that bad. Batteries are like $35, so I have 8 of them, and 3 chargers, never a worry for battery life. The impact driver is awesome. I beat the crap out of it almost everyday, never let me down yet. And if it does, it's only $85 for a new one.

Dewalt or ridgid are good bang for buck mikey.....I'm personally not a mastercrap fan but they're cheap and if its getting little use it might serve your purposes

was looking at getting a snap on one. my dealer actually told me not to waste my money and go buty the milwaukee one. more power better attery life and way cheaper. talked to lots of guys that had them and guys in the same shop using both side by side and milwaukee was a clear winner all the way.
