2 WORDS: GET ONE!.. they are made in texas and are high quality not the chinese chit. they run on pellets and make the best food! I eat the best steaks in my entire life off of this bbq. totally worth the money!

My father-in-law is a dealer in Sask. for these units. I got one a few weeks ago and love it. They are not cheap but are well worth the money. Have not had a bad meal off of one ever.

They are smokers and I have only used their own brand of pellets so far. Hickory and mesquite are the ones I have tried so far. I made jerky with some old beef & bison roasts a few weeks ago and wow is it good. Only took two hours to smoke 4 pounds of meat and its not your normal dried out jerky. Always great flavour when cooking with the Traeger.

they are OK....if the wind blows at all they have a hard time generating enough heat to cook a steak without cooking the crap out of it...they are OK for things that cook slow, salmon, smoked foods...not great as a hot barbecue they just dont generate enough BTU's....the pullets run out fast and you are always buying those bags at 15 bucks a piece..I wouldn't buy another one..

that's why you don't use a smoker for grilling.

Really well on friday the wind just a howlin away and we cooked steak and it was tender as always. we also made a roast and it was so moist I can't even explain. anyway yeah I agree they do use alot of pellets. but I still think its worth it.

I picked up a yoder ys1500 last year. It's a pellet smoker .. it blows the tregar out of the water.. check them out if your in the market for a smoker.. I belive I'm the only guy in edmonton with a ys1500. . The more popular series is the ys480 and ys640.. great units!

Pellet smokers rock! I bought a taeger knock off from Lowes (Chargriller) for $400 on sale. Where as a traeger is $1300. Looks the same, operates the same and cooks the same, you can not tell the difference in the taste. Compare before you buy. Either way it is well worth the money.
