My neighbor is getting a hold of some fuel

60drums of AV gas
10 drums of Regular gas
60 Drums of D1 diesel or jet fuel jet A

Just wondering what a 200L drum would go for?
TIA

Depends on how old the fuel is Trashy, as fast farmer posted below, that would be the current average price per litre for fresh av gas. I personally would not put av gas in my turbo sled that is over one year old, the n/a sled I would but not at $1.60+ per litre.

Reality is with out a documented paper trail it’s toast for aviation and dicey for Joe blow to spend on his juiced up turbo. Also be aware there are composition differences than standard diesel. It can be done but user needs to be very aware. He is probably best off blending small amounts off with other fuels. Just my 2c.

Do you have to meet in a dark alley too? Sounds sketch.
For you...…. yes

I will know more when he gets it, it is coming from a legit Alberta airport that has more choppers than planes and close to a military base.
I don't know what the production date or expire date is, until it's here. I do know there won't be a drum deposit, lol

guy would not likely to use that much av gas in a sled in years. 12,000lt ? that"s a bit of av gas.

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
In my back alley avgas fuel buying days, 75 cents to $1/litre was the going rate.
It was from a pilot when his avgas was over a year old and I knew how he stored his fuel so I felt better buying used, er, not used fuel.

Av gas has a specific shelf life for use in aeroplanes I'm guessing ?

I'm sure it does, not sure what it is exactly but the local boys around here say one year, anything older, they will not burn it in there planes.

One year in a properly sealed, light proof drum. If there's no woosh when cracked I would call it stale. There are tools for measuring the vapour pressure and octane.

A couple riders putting in 100+ days a year could probably make a good dent in that pile.

i suppose they could, i don't know many who put in 100 days a yr riding. anything is possible. they did put a guy on the moon!

i would think there is a price point somewhere to entice someone to purchase 12,000l of av gas. diesel i can see , av gas may have a shelf life and reg gas sure does and i don't think it is that long? seems more like a business venture of some sort to me? $40-50 thous worth of fuel for a recreational sport seems a bit much?

Just found out tonight, that what was to be a great deal, has not to be one.

No special deals on ay type of fuel, unless you need gas for your riding mower.......

Sorry guys.

100ll will last a long time without losing octane

Absolutely. The issue, which is a bigger concern for av reasons, is it starts to gum up. But if properly stored, it should be fine in a sled for a long while.
