Re: Hot Tub Gazebos or Pergola's

A gazebo is more of a building structure, where as a pergola is an add-on or a structure in itself with an open roof. I chose a pergola because I needed the snow to fall off the roof a certain direction in the winter. I sloped my roof and used clear ribbed lexan roofing from home depot.
Spending time on forums chatting with people I don't know, buying chit I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people that don't really care.
Have you said THANKS to someone today?

I seen your pictures and it looks really nice, but once you put a fixed roof on, doesn't it kinda become a gazebo? And I really like the idea of the clear lexan

What you choose depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are looking for protection from all weather, a gazebo with a roof seems a must. If you are looking for wind protection, you can put up material that doesn't need to be solid like lexan but a fabric one that can just be put up when needed. Something like https://www.campingworld.com/sideblockers-by-carefree.

I no longer own a tub. A good friend and neighbor does and his is just how I like it: Entirely in the open. We live in the country so don't have privacy concerns BUT the one thing I would do is build in very close proximity a heated shed that can be used as a change room and/or place to keep your towel and housecoat. If the tub is right outside your back door, this isn't a problem.

    So what's your layout?
