I have live time cameras at my shop that notify me when anything is in my yard. On Halloween. I get notified and race to my shop with my baseball bat in hand. As I pull up the thief is racing for his car. And so am I . He gets In before I get there, starts the car and I start swinging. Before he gets 5 ft my bat is through his front window , both side windows, and I may have got the rear as well, I follow him as I am on the phone with police, police catch up and pull him over . Police asked me about the windows , I said I have no idea, older car I probably wrote it off lol . I win. BRING IT ON :nono:

Ever hear of shoot, shovel, shut up?? This is the shut up part. It is good you took care of it and the police got him but don't post all the details here on a public forum. It could easily turn into you getting charged as well. Other then that good job. Bet it felt good. Did the guy do any damage to your place?

I have a motion detector in my shop and the only thing that worries me is if I would be able to control my self . My yard is fenced and I hate thief's . We all bust our azz to get stuff and some scum thinks he can just help himself . It might end up with a night trip to the trap line to get rid of something .
Hope it don't ever come to that

Nope. If every f-in thief knew that if they might get beat if they enter my property , I win. If I get charged . It's my word against his. I'm sure the police will not lay charges , I will do it tonight if I have to . And he only got some tools , I started to swing before he could load up . And ya it was fun!!

Bunch of years back we caught a couple guys loading a second 45 gallon barrel of oil into the back of their pickup. we blocked their vehicle in with a couple of 631 scrapers while we called police. While on the phone, I heard the scraper engines rev up and the thief was trying to squeeze around the machines. The machine was backing up (fully loaded - about 120,000 pounds if I remember right) and the back tire rolled right up on the hood of the pickup. Actually cracked the engine block. Cops thought it was funny and one mentioned everyone should have a couple of these around their yard.

Had to go to court and even the judge had a smile on his face when he heard the story. Guy got 3 months. I got a funny memory.

Better hope none of these thieves carry. A gun beats a bat or a scraper every single time.

What he said ^^^^

While I'm sure the majority don't, getting shot or stabbed while trying to be a hero saving something insurance will replace isn't worth it imo

Judging by the amount of stabbings and shootings in cowtown lately, It would be a real possibility.

It would be nice if they would bring out a law that entitles a person to protect there property with any means, let the intruder prove what he was doing there. Chances are they are well known to authorities anyway. As it stands the protector will do more time than theif.

You are kidding me right? You have obviously never been stolen from!! I have trouble counting the times I have been ripped off. My yard is fenced , best locks available, great lighting, and it does not stop them. I have spoked to many police about this, this is just property theft , they are busy with lots of more important things. If I have to protect my property , I think the odds of me getting charged , or shot or stabbed are slim to none , Do me a favour post your address so they leave my **** alone . If you have never been ripped off don't reply to this , because you have no f-idea what it's like. And I have to go its time for church

A couple years ago I was awoken by the roomies dog at 2-3 am. He never barks in the middle of the night unless somethings up or he has to take a shyte. I didn't get up immediately, figured the rookie could deal with his own hound! A minute later my rookie bursts into my room and says dude someone is in the garage, go see for yourself. I ran up stairs to the kitchen in my boxers. Look out the kitchen window. He didn't turn the garage light on, but opened the fridge door for the fridge light to see what to gather. I told the roomie to call the Feds, I'd handle it until then. I went outside in my boxers slammed the door. Fridge door got shut. Garage was dark. I walked into the garage through the man door. Shut it behind me. Locked it! I might or might not have beat the snot out of him in the dark. When I was done I turned on the light. Feds showed minutes later. Took him away. Thank Christ I didn't get charged for assault. I also got to retain everything he planned on scooping!

Turns out He had my Sled tarp laid spread out heaped with stuff he planned on stealing.

Had a similar situation at our place, was in the house for lunch, truck was in the shop so looked like no one was home I guess. Dog starts barking at the door, I look out to see a car out at the road at the end of the driveway, running, with a driver in it and a second guy looking in my garage windows. Hmmm, dog really wanted out, guess he had to pee :)

GEEZ some people watch too much TV...

Theft and beating the perpetrator is one thing...

Murder is another.

The last time my house got broke into they came in through my kids bedroom window , and then trashed the house and then laid in our bedroom making prank phone calls .

We were camping at the time .

I have turned the other cheek five times .

Talk to once you have been violated multiple times
